I have looked at myself in the mirror while trying to free-dance, and it was very embarrassing. The time when I break-danced and I *thought* it looked good is long gone..

But.. I did come up with this. A dance of discord not recommended for drunks or anyone really. But I figure I might as well unleash it to the world.

The Chaos Star

Start from a center point with both feet positioned together.

1. Move right foot up a step, then back down to the center point.

2. Move left foot down a step, then back up to the center point.

3. Turn 45 degrees to the right quickly.

4. Move left foot up a step, then back down to the center point.

5. Move right foot down a step, then back up to the center point.

6. Turn 45 degrees to the right quickly.

7. Start back at number 1.

Keep steps in the beat of the song and try to go for the fastest tempo possible without losing the center point or getting dizzy. Practice at slower tempos until you get the hang of it.

I have been to CC a few times and I really enjoy it there. The thing is, I'm tired of standing around and talking the whole time; I went over and tried to dance and it was horrible. It looks like so much fun but I need help so that next time I dont embarrass myself and everyone I'm with.

Does anyone know of a good website/video where I can learn in the comfort of my own home?

Are there names for different styles?

I don't even know what else to ask :drool

Take a few minutes and look at the people dancing at City Club. They don't have any clue either, better than nine times out of ten. It's easier said than done, I know better than most, but...don't fret about it so much.

I know I have no clue what the hell I'm doing.

Which is why a ridiculous deal of practice is needed before it can be done, thus resulting in the reality that someone has trained themselves to do nothing more than step around in circles like a clock. :w00t: I can barely do it and I came up with it (I think).

Listen to what the music is doing, make your body do that, HAVE FUN and don't worry about what other people are thinking or doing. I know the "don't worry" part is easier said than done, but that really is key. As long as you're not crashing into other people, burning them with your cigarette, or spilling your drink on them, it's all good. The beauty of club dancing is that it IS entirely an expression of your own spirit. I refuse to do hustle/line dancing (which are the exact same thing, just different cultures/music)- to me, having to worry about what the person next to me is doing goes entirely against the spirit of dance.

FOUND IT! WATCH THIS!

:happydance:happydance:happydance:happydance:happydance

...and gothic break dancing!

:jamin:jamin:jamin:jamin:jamin

Somehow, though, I don't think those sweet moves in the last link and CC's nefarious floor are a good match....unless the dancers are wearing hazmat suits or are otherwise encased in latex head to toe....come to think of it, that might be perfect.

Wow, never gets old...actually it does and it really hurts my groin...

Screw dancing at goth clubs...go to Burning Man! That is dancing. 100% of the people will never see you mess up...mostly due to the fact that they won't wake up for three days or will be taken by aliens. But remember, if you go to BM do NOT do drugs...it isn't cool man...

Not everyone can afford to go to Burning Man. Burning Man also happens just once a year (unless you want to volunteer to be set on fire).

True...but it is damn worth it if you can.

I don't know if I would burn that well being skinny and all so I would volunteer but I would first need to confirm that I will burn well.

I never said I would not have gallons of gasoline, several pallets, cinder blocks and many bundles of twigs for use as kindling. I can boil macaroni on my cooking fires with only a handful of charcoal briquettes or twigs.

The only ones who ever get talked about are the guys who just stand there and barely move or not at all while their girl dances. I mean come on, pick up your feet a wee bit.

I know, I've been trying to get you-know-who to dance for years, but he'll only do it when buzzed .

    • I am currently floored.   FedEx did a massive 6 box delivery to the wrong address.  I had an autoship order scheduled to arrive before this past weekend.  Nothing showed up.  I contacted the order site and they had a link for the order...a photo of all my boxes thrown in the snow and up the sidewalk of a residence that was not mine.   You would think that at some point, the driver would have looked at the delivery address after they kept throwing box upon box at this location with no shelter from the elements.  They didn't even knock on the door to inform the residents that massive 65+ pound boxes were left all over their walkway.  Nope.  Just dumped them, took a photo as they were walking away and left.   I wonder what the person who found all of those misdelivered boxes must have been thinking when they saw them.  Maybe they kept everything to use, distribute or sell.  No idea.  No claim was filed on that end as of yet.   Fortunately for me, one of the sites that I ordered from, replaced everything at no extra cost.   Unfortunately, now I'm concerned for the other items yet to be delivered.   Needless to say, I'll be watching my notifications like a hawk.
