Hi folks I figured I would take a moment and introduce myself... since that moments past I figured now I would make a convincing arguement for the legalization of force feeding draino to people that annoy you.... but now that moments passed as well...

Oh well guess I will just say some shit about me.

1. I dont like you till I like you. tough shit if you exxpected anything else.

2. I like ebm/industrial and I swear if you play any of the really old school crap like bauhaus or chrstian death in front of me I will point and laugh. If you play the cure I will point and hit.

Been going to Shitty club since 97 and I am sorry but while its fun to hang out with all the people that come and go paying 12 dollars for a single drink sucks ass.

other then that I hit up Luna, used to go to motor and gothim back in their day and have hit up probably every other bar in oakland county and west side of detroit

ok, seriously - have you read the DGN Rules & FAQ 3.0...

specifically,

Rule No. 1.

Play Nice. Unlike a lot of boards, we like to try and keep ours jerk-free.

You should feel comfortable to express your opinions freely, even if they might be unpopular opinions - we're not going for a homogenized, dull community here. But when voicing an opinion, always do so with tact and avoid inciting others.

yep read the board rules and while I definitly attacked I was provoked into attacking first and feel that my response summed it up nicely whithout going for the jugular of an all out flame war... I take it like prison stand up for your self once and most people will leave you alone... I am defintly not the guy we all knew in high school that beat people up for listening to diffrent music then what they listened too but I will happily debate the lack of musical talent that emerged from 1979- 1991 in what was considered Old school goth/ Punk. I know I will get haters for that but I generally got over it a long time ago.

And yes the Cure is not technically goth I challange you to find one person in the "old School" catagory that does not like them.

and I dont count new wave as part of the old school I count Christian death, Bauhaus, and the like as bad music.

obviously you either *didn't* read the rules, or your reading retention isn't great - provocation is no reason to reply in kind, and it is not valid justification for doing so. please note the following rule, taken directly from the official rules page: (color changes are mine)

1I. The proper way to address an issue you may have with post, DGN Moderators or with the DGN Rules:

If you have problems with DGN moderators, confusion about the DGN rules or an issue with a particular post bring it up with a mod or the mod staff privately. If you don't like the response, you get from a moderator, bring it up with a Sr. Mod. If you still dont like the response, while we try we cant please everyone. DGN is not a soapbox for you to complain about the longstanding DGN rules.

If it is a problem with a particular post use the "report" button or link the post directly in your correspondences.

If you STILL don't like the response you have two options:

1. Drop it and move on.

2. Drop it and perhaps revisit it in a few months.

Other than that its "done". Its a hard job, and requires maturity on both parties especially if your viewpoint is not in agreement with the moderators.

Welll...just because you listen to pop music (i.e. CombiChrist, Covenant, VNV Nation, Shiny Toy Guns, etc) does not mean we all share the same tastes! Keep it in mind, we're quite a diverse group of people. I listen to some of that new pop stuff they play at CC, but I'm into old industrial/ebm myself (Skinny Puppy, Front 242, Ministry, Front Line Assembly, Throbbing Gristle, etc) only like a little bit of that oontz oontz pop techno that CC tends to play (as of recent anyways, imo). Doesn't hurt to stay diverse, just because something is old doesn't mean it isn't good.

That said, welcome to the board. Sorry it seemed like everyone got on you, hope that's all behind everyone now and we can all try to get along (even if we all, heaven forbid, have differences in tastes).
