VNV Nation 2009 Tour Dates

Recommended Posts

I really don't know. they sold out St. Andrew's last time (on a Sunday night, no less), but there's still tix available for this one. How late is "late" in your case?

the lineup, courtesy of the Oakland Press:

VNV Nation

War Tapes

Ayria

If the doors open at 8, then Ayria will go on at 9, War Tapes about 10:15 and VNV about 11:20. Assuning that lineup's in the right order,of course.

the people mover station is indeed that building you see from the diner. as for parking around St. Andrew's, there's a number of lots and garages (which will charge $10-12), as well as free street parking. Street parking's pretty hard to come by when the Tigers are at Comerica Park, which they will be tomorrow evening.

Late is like, probably 7:20 or so. Doors are at 7. I think. Harold works till 6:30 in Southfield so he's gotta run home and change then we're heading down. I'll probably do a quick sweep of St. Andrews vicinity and hope to see a spot, give up quickly and head to City...but I'm driving 2 people who don't have tickets. I'm the only one who does. OTL Hopefully they'll both be able to get tickets. I might have to leave them both there to get tickets and just go myself to drop the car off and hop on the PM back over.

Unless...what time does the box office open, anyone know? Maybe I should go pick them up tickets earlier in the day?

Nah, the parking is free in the parking structures for the casino. They don't even make you validate. Oh, and if you go early and want to waste time the buffet at the casino is $10- good selection. I am the master of the cheap outing/date/whatever.

You can get away with that? That's pretty cool. I won't have any time to go to the casino - they don't pay attention to that at all?

^^^^ LUCCKKKYYYYYY!!!

VNV put on an amazing show. I actually got a tad teary-eyed at a few points, not just because I was "SOOO EXCITED" to be there but for other reasons. All good, of course. =)

But w00!!!!!

Jennifer has such amazing stage presence. She is so high energy and just so damned cute you can't sit there and watch her without getting into it. I think they must not play her stuff as much down in the Chamber, because none of the Ohio crowd seemed to know her at all, but by the end of the show most of the crowd's heads were bopping and hands were moving and there was much cheering. Yay! Love...

VNV was incredible both nights, but I have to say I think I enjoyed the Ohio show more. That's partially my fault - I was up in the balcony at St Andrews for VNV which was nice to watch from but I didn't get as into it since I wasn't part of the crowd. I learned I really have to be part of the crowd to get full enjoyment out of it. Down in Ohio the club was tiny and there was no video, but there was so much crazy fun to make up for it. Someone brought a giant inflatable sword - Ronan talked about how someone had brought an even bigger one in Detroit a few years ago (yeah Detroit rocks harder...) XDXD They played a different set list and it was awesome - both were so awesome. SO AWESOME.

Best weekend ever? XD

I totally called in sick to work this morning and took the morning off...going in from the afternoon. Didn't get home till 4am! I tried to get up on time..I really did....! >< Oh wells...

OH, MY, GAWD! VNV ROCKS SO FUCKIN' HARD!

...SO I SAIS TO MARK: "Say somethin' British for me..."

He looked slightly confused for about 0.5 second, then flashes me about the biggest, most genuine & handsome smile I think I ever saw...I gave him the D-town-MAN-HUG..(half-hug-half-hand-shake)....it may have been his first...I don't know...but, he just seemed surprised...perhaps it was what I was wearing.

...I also got to shake Ronin's hand, & tell him how he saved me from becoming Evil, when I stood at those crossroads, all those years ago...& that, NOW, I was comin' for him; I too can push buttons & turn knobs...he wished me well on it

That was SO FUCKIN' COOL!

Even that fucked up band that was "not-quite-goth-enough-to-not-be-emo" could not fuck up the evening (yes, I know, some of you like that band, & that's oK..they need to eat too, REALLY, they NEED CHEEZEBURGERZ!)(& they are a real band, 'cause, I liked 1 or 3 of their songs...but, they were at the wrong venue ;) )

Aryia <--I LOVE THIS BAND!

Never heard of them before this show... :drool

They are SO coooool.

Check this out...

I told her I really like her rap-ish--style on that one...she giggled, like girl-rocker do...it was hot...

{edit to add}

Our own DJ JINX got mad props from Ronin ON STAGE...that was super cool...& the after the show bit that he arranged for all us happy loiterers...REALLY made the night...& it is a night that is easy in the top 5 for stuff I saw musically.
