What Are You Thinking?

Brainstorming my grant proposal... auntie sez if I get funding for a tutoring program at her organization (Black Child & Family Institute) she'll hire me to run it.

That I want my program to focus on social skills as well as academics, tailored to kids with LD/EI/asperger's but open to all.

That I really like the pix from today's shoot!

Great news, Hille!! You should begin a "cause" app on Facebook. Is there already an existing non-profit bank account that you could link a Paypal "donate" badge to?

As for me, I'm sitting here thinking, "WHY am I awake?! I didn't have to go to class today!" :X

I'm also thinking, "Who got banned?!"

I think this is good....very good...you are certainly one whom should work with 'The Touched'...

...sure wish there was a teacher as cool as you when I was in the school, labeled EI.

...might I add...you should use music & poetry as an emotive release...took me a long time to learn how helpful these are...I have found them highest of the 7 Classic liberal arts...that is, the closest to Divinity........which is what 'The Touched' are touched by...

OMFG, the courts and MISDU are SO fucking inept, except for when it comes to sending shocking letters in the mail! The check has been cashed, but they are showing no record of my case being paid up, yet!

I am SO sick of dealing with these people!!!!!

Wondering if the snakelets were reacting to the vacuum being run when all of them started trying to escape... at a time when they should be sleeping.

I should be reading the chapters for class tonight instead of dicking around online.

I really need to eat something.

I need to boil up that corn and saute the mushrooms before they spoil.

I'm not looking forward to cutting up these pinkies tonight. Eeeyew.

Good idea, and I'm sure there is... it's a very well-established organization. I think I'm going to focus on developing my grantwriting/locating skills, though... I need to be more knowlegeable about these things.

Thank you, sweetie! Music, poetry, and creative movement will definitely be a part of this program. It's often very difficult for "The Touched" young'uns to verbalize their emotions so those are all excellent tools to help them with positive self-expression.

One of my most cherished teacher mementos is a drawing by a 2nd grader in my 2nd year of teaching. She was angry at something I'd done, and she drew a picture of a monster saying "I am going to eat you Ms. W*****, you better run here I kum!". He had "Mad! Mad! Mad!" on his shirt, and in the foreground were drawings of "my kids" begging me to help them. She expected me to be angry about it- instead I praised her to high heaven for showing her anger in her picture instead of acting it out as she usually did. She was delighted. That marked a real turning point for this little girl, and made a huge impression on me.

Where the hell is everyone??

I still miss my sweet leaf.

I can't wait to molest my husband.

For as much as I've already done, this house still seems dingy. :X Haven't had much time to tidy up or deep-clean, lately.

This house is finally beginning to look better.

Earl Grey tea with demerara sugar and tinned milk is GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD.

I hope this guy from CL rings me about the car battery I have for sale.

The Michigan foods website and forum is going to take off bigtime, if I have anything to do with it (PM me, if you want the link).
