What Are You Thinking?

I can't stand people who think they know everything and slam you with what they think you are talking about instead of listening to what you actually are saying.

I think this is an interesting statement because I constantly find myself misrepresented as the know-it-all slammer...

Which, as I have recently discovered, is why people I actually speak to have such an issue with me...my explanations and fill-ins take so long that by the time I get to the point or message of what I'm trying to convey, the person I am speaking to has already drawn a conclusion from the analogies that I've use to support why I started the statement in the first place. Unfortunately, by the time I make it to the point (if I am even able enough to get that far), I've already lost my audience due to preconceived notions of what they think I am trying to say. Therefore, anything I say afterwards is generally taken defensively. In my case, I use analogies to insure I know what the person is saying because people know what they are thinking but don't always state things in a way the listener can relate to, but instead of stating if the comparison I've made has hit the nail on the head or not, it is assumed that my analogy IS the grounds for the discussion...

Due to this fact of human nature, I have trained my niece and nephew to comprehend the fact that in this world, you are wrong first then right. People are more likely to be misunderstood than understood because, as a whole, we generally spend our lives defending ourselves. The thought or notion that another being may actually understand you first is not in our nature. Therefore, even the most harmless of observations can be taken in the wrong manner if a conferred understanding is not established from the start. (Thus, my reason for making analogies.)

Sadly, in my case, I am just so used to people automatically feeling I am going to be opinionated or "slam" what they are saying or are going to say, that I have become a bit complacent with knowing I am going to be misunderstood and have just gotten too tired of dealing with it. I would think by now, people who "know" me would "know" I'm not that type of person, but I've discovered when "feelings" are involved, all bets are off.

Maybe this might be the same case with the type of person you are referring to. Sometimes you never know...

Why is misinformation so prolific? It takes years for the truth to be known and even then it isn't fully believed. Why not just release the truth to begin with?

if for some reason Monroe County CMH falls through (the process is 6 to 8 weeks I'm going on week 4 so I should know if I pass the background soon. .) I talk to HR a couple times a week all they needed on my end was transcripts which should have got there Friday. .after that the comitee approves me officially for hire. .the put the official offer together and I will get a start date then...I pray they get me in by early September because I'm finding alot of awesome rentals near my daughters school.

But first I have to get a car..flood wiped mine :-(

Is your "gofundme" account able to be modified for the purpose of the cost of a couple weeks car rental or for the cost of a down payment? I think that would be a good option especially if there was a "PayPal" button available...hint hint...

I am seriously beginning to wonder if my lack of the use of curse words during basic conversations with non-immediate family members causes those I speak with to not take me seriously or make my words unmemorable. I say the same things over and over again, but not in the same time period so as not to sound whiny or like I'm complaining. Only to find later that those I spoke with never knew I even had an issue with anything I guess because I didn't sit there griping about the same situation 30 times in a row. However, the icing on the cake is when I see or hear those same topics brought to light, but with colorful metaphors and now the statements have true meaning. Almost makes me wonder why I broke my silence all those years ago...

I guess I am just thinking too much right now...been working since 1:30am this morning and finally calling it quits for a bit...

I truly believe there is no rest for the weary and I'm no longer considering that "final sleep" as an option so I think it is best that I get myself into gear, buckle down, quit the pity parties and handle it all.

I got the official job offer from the county! I may start Friday if my physical is back by than if not after the holiday. The money is better than I anticipated too! Sooo happy. Just gotta figure out car issue but I will. Yay
