I love the way the site looks.

Actually, I had to change the look of the site.  Troy reminded me that I forgot to gothy it up a bit.  Pretty wasn't cutting it.  I hope it still appeals to Goths as well as non-Goths alike since DGN is supposed to be for everyone.  😅

What if we saw everything in one color?

If you account for shades of that particular color then it would be no different from watching a Black and White movie except in the shade of the color of your choice.

When we were little, our father filmed us with an 8mm camera that played everything back in sepia.  So it would be something like that.

What exactly does it mean to be goth? punk? emo? and why are there so many labels??:bunny:

You can do a board search.  Members have already debated that topic on the forum before.

Also, I think Gothic (when referred to people) is supposed to be the ability to find beauty in darkness.  I've always been that way, but sometimes it seems to me that Goth has come to mean "Shock Tactics" in the macabre, thus causing some things to seem played out and cliché.  But that's just my opinion.

Actually, you are correct.  It is about finding beauty in what others consider dark.  The rich silence of a moon lit night in a cemetery.  The shadows that dance on a dark country road.  The beautiful sheen of a raven's feather.  The pure whiteness of a skeletal bone, echoes of a life once lived.  Styles of an era long passed by.  The  mournful solitude of the grave.

The solemn, rich dignity of the true goth has been lost and buried by American traditions, misunderstanding, and misinterpretations.  Having satanic items does not make you a goth.  Dressing up like the Crow does not make you a goth.  Wearing black and being moody does not make you a goth. (That is actually emo by the way.)  Performing blood rituals does not make you a goth.  Casting spells doesn't make you a goth. Just because you like to wear dark colors does not make you a goth.  Terrorizing people and being rude while running around with your face painted, dressed in black does not make you a goth.  It makes you a bully, but not a goth.

Being goth is not a choice.  It is who you are at the very core of your being.  You don't have to choose to behave this way.  It is merely who you are and you should never apologize for being you.

I really do not like those online polls/quizzes...they are not made for all personality types and if an impressionable person takes those quizzes seriously, they might actually believe their results.

I just did an online quiz that told me the following (and for anyone who knows me they definitely know this isn't true):

~~~~~
"Acrophobia
733411405_8af47aae-083f-4d84-8b52-8daa9075941cAcrophobia060318.jpg
You have Acrophobia, the irrational fear of heights and falling! Based on your reaction to the images in this quiz there is not doubt that you're absolutely terrified of heights. You couldn't imagine anything worse than standing on the ledge of a skyscraper, looking down!"
~~~~~

The images they have you look at are laughable and I couldn't take most of them seriously.  So that means I'm scared of heights because some set designer couldn't stage a real looking spider attack to save their lives...I think not!!!  Bad imagery is just bad imagery.

I love heights and get a kick out of going to the top of buildings just so I can look over the edge.  It's like a rush.  But hey, whatever.

:right:If anyone is interested in this particular poll, just let me know and I will post it.:left:

HA! If only they actually knew...I wonder what all their set answers are:question:

With the way this answer came across was like, "If you don't like the pictures you see, we will make you afraid of heights because we will push you off the highest building for disliking our quiz."

:rofl:

I can't believe it just took me 2 hours to clean up all the poop, pee, throw-up, and litter pans from all these furbabies.  The Tuxedo Girls puked on every flat surface they could find...this included my full size mattress and the majority of the kitchen floor.  They all filled up the litter pans, so in frustration, Kali retaliated by peeing (several times) on her bed cushion and then walked wet litter up the futon to my face...granted, that's what woke me up around 1:30pm.  I had passed out from work exhaustion over the weekend and forcing myself to stay awake so I wouldn't miss getting the kids off to school this morning, which was a good thing since they left the phone off the hook again at the HomeHouse.  Fortunately, we have intercom functionality.

The concerning part about all of this is it took place in a matter of hours.  That would mean they filled all the litters in less than 8 hours and I heard someone start coughing up a fur ball around 5am. 😶

I thought I would be out cutting down the 4 foot tall grass right now, but stuff keeps coming up.  Maybe I'll wait until tomorrow.  I will have to work on getting a good night's sleep.
