Search Intensifies for

Nevaeh Buchanan

MONROE, Mich. - More than 100 members of a task force comprised of local and federal law enforcement agencies are working to find a 5-year-old Monroe girl whose disappearance three days ago is being investigated as an abduction.

Monroe County Sheriff Tilman Crutchfield said during a news conference Wednesday morning that his office as well as the FBI and others are staffed 24 hours a day trying to locate Nevaeh Buchanan.

Meanwhile, FOX 2's Taryn Asher has learned that Michigan State Police cadaver dogs are searching two separate stone quarries in the Monroe-area for the missing girl. This comes after FOX 2 first reported Tuesday night that police are testing the blood found on a fishing knife belonging to George Kennedy, the boyfriend of Nevaeh's mother.

Sources say it is human blood and the MSP crime lab is currently conducting tests to determine whether the blood is Nevaeh's or not.

Kennedy is a convicted sex offender and police say he is currently a person of interest being held on a parole violation. FOX 2 has also learned another man is being questioned, but they are not releasing information about his identity.

Nevaeh last was seen Sunday evening in the parking lot of an apartment complex in Monroe, 40 miles south of Detroit. All 180 units in the apartment have been searched.

I had a friend who dated a sex offender. He SEEMED normal, successful...he was lying...she paid the 30 bucks AFTER THEY GOT SERIOUS, she did a background check....

thing is, his sex offender past is FREE.....go here...if your getting serious with someone, couldn't hurt.

class 3 and 4 are bad. Usually force is involved.

1-2 may be just kissing a 16 yr old when your 20 or something...peeping in windows. Which leads to creepier things but yah...I am betting this ladies bf did it.

There is no reason to believe an abducted missing 5-year-old Michigan girl is dead, despite finding new evidence in a registered sex offender's apartment, police said.

Meanwhile a search warrant says there is evidence that Nevaeh Buchanan was stabbed, MyFOXDetroit.com reported.

Police searched a room at the Motel 7 in Monroe, Mich. where 36-year-old George Kennedy was staying, and removed several key pieces of evidence, WXYZ Action News in Detroit reported.

Among the items taken were a blood-stained towel, shorts, a photo of a girl similar to Nevaeh Buchanan and hairs from the toilet and bathroom floor, the station reported.

A search of his van turned up an unidentified tool with blood on it and fishing weights, WXYZ reported.

Kennedy is reportedly a friend of Nevaeh's mother and is currently being held on an unrelated parole violation. Police called him a "person of interest," but wouldn't comment further.

"We have no indication that she is not still alive," Monroe County Sheriff Tilman Crutchfield said Thursday.

But, search warrants MyFOXDetroit reportedly viewed, claim two kids saw the little girl enter the woods and one says they saw her stabbed, the station reported.

He said investigators are conducting additional interviews at a Monroe apartment complex. It was in the complex's parking lot that she last was seen Sunday evening.

All 180 units in the apartment already had been searched, but police are back canvassing it on Thursday.

Nevaeh is white, under 4 feet tall, weighs 45 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes.

The body of a young child has been found in River Baisin in southeast Michigan and police say it is likely that of Neveah Buchanan,

Basin, not baisin. And it IS River Raisin. Here's text gleaned from a google maps search:

The River Raisin is a river in southeastern Michigan, United States that flows through glacial sediments into Lake Erie. The area today is an agricultural and industrial center of Michigan. The river was named La Riviere aux Raisin by French settlers because of the wild grapes growing along its banks, since the French word for grape is raisin.

During the winter of 1813 as part of the War of 1812, a battle occurred near the river between British and Native American troops under the command of British General Henry Procter and Native American chief Tecumseh, and a small division of Kentucky militia under command of General James Winchester. I don't enjoy this gift, one bit. I have learned ways to dumb it down, so to speak (such as getting blotto..and people wonder why I drink). Sometimes, it comes through really strong, though, and there is no stopping the visions.

I have seen other gruesome details of this little girl's murder in my mind's eye. I will say, that she appears to be bludgeoned over the head with something sharp, rather than stabbed to death. She is wearing only a t-shirt, and nothing else. Her bare feet and hands have cuts and scratches all over them. I kept seeing tall pine trees, water, and rocky terrain. There are train tracks not far from the crime scene..I kept hearing a train.

I hate seeing things.

On a lighter note, about a month or so ago, there was a story in the news. A woman in Pontiac had lost her little dog, and a psychic helped to find it.
