"First they came to tax on radio, and I didn't care because I didn't broadcast anything.

Then they came to tax on clothes, and I didn't care because I didn't tailor anything..."

I'm sure you know how that ends.

Also you should write your congressmen directly ON TOP OF THIS.

There's a lot of legislative action going on in the realm of copyrights and realted issues right now. Another is the Orphan Works act, which, if enacted will allow a lot of copyrighted works to be used for free if the author can't be found. There has to be a reasonable balance between competing interests but the creator of the art needs to take priority. That said, legislation like the Design Piracy act tread to far over the line. A lot of "design" really can't be considered copyrightable as they're basic elements that have been around for a long time and should remain in the public domain.

I agree. Keep the act, but rewrite it. I TOTALLY understand wanting to keep designs safe from people looking to make cheap knock offs... but in the design world, (not talking black market), everyone's looking to make a cheaper, yet quality design of something they saw somewhere else... Rewrite the damn thing, so it doesn't target us small time DIYers. I mean seriously, everything made today was inspired by something someone saw somewhere else, and to take every person to court over every little thing they make to make sure it was in fact something from their own head and not anything remotely similar to anything else... This is not the way to build the economy back up! Fuckin morons... if anything, it will make it worse! (Even if by a little)

I want to file a copyright for the production of children. Nobody will be allowed to have another human child without my written consent and I also want royalties for producing human children like mine. Unless otherwise deformed, like 20 toes or something, that's ok..

I also want to copyright umm.. The ground.. and.. grass. and... the sun. Yes.. Copyright all of it. Everything! Copyright tissues so kleenex can have a monopoly on that, too! Yes! I love it!

Ok I go back to my rock now. Buhbye.

Go for it... but I'm pretty sure no one wants that. :p

I can't help it if people don't know a good thing when they see it. Cloning more intelligent people is a great idea.

I'd skip my spot though if they'd do Einstein, but then they'd probably just clone Jesus instead

*my penny on the track*
