lullaby1031
There is this stuff called "Cold FX" and you end up taking 9 pills the first day, 6 the next, and 3 on the 3rd day and your cold is either dead totally or almost gone and you don't have to worry about it making you feel all "weird". It's an herbal thing. But Advil Cold and Sinus works pretty well too.

Homicidalheathen
Are you sure you don't have allergies? Mine start out with what feels like a cold. There are some remedies but they suck. Like the vinegar (pure apple cidar unfiltered) and pure unfiltered raw honey drink. Oh yum. One table spoon each in water stir well drink twice a day. Yuck. Fierce Critter
Resident allergy/sinus sufferer here. Here's my advice in my usual form of my personal experience. I have been treated for allergies for pretty much my lifetime. Injections on-and-off for 20 years, Seldane in early 20's, Allegra when Seldane was taken off the market, finally Zyrtec, which was like a miracle for me. I have strong allergies to cats. Before Zyrtec, a cat scratch would become swollen, red & itchy or exposure to cats would make my face explode. On Zyrtec, I not only don't have those reactions, I also have 10 cats as pets. When Claritin went OTC, my insurance plans made it clear that either I buy Claritin, or pay the highest copay on their policy - $45 a month. That made Zyrtec unaffordable for me. I found someone from Canada selling the Canadian version (Reactine) on ebay. I contacted them directly, and ended up buying from them directly. I think I was paying $40 for 90 tablets. Zyrtec & it's generic equivalents (Reactine & Cetirizine) are over-the-counter in Canada, so it's legal to purchase up to a 90-day supply from them. In any case, that supplier "disappeared" so I found another. Then they disappeared, too, and no almost nobody sells it on ebay anymore. So I now get mine from getcanadiandrugs.com. I pay $29.99 plus $14.00 shipping for 90 tablets. It arrives within 4 days of order. But for about 6 months last year, I tried using Claritin. It didn't help much, and once I went back on Zyrtec, it seems some kind of permanent damage happened from using the Claritin. I now have a sinus congestion problem I never had before. My current doctor gave me samples of Zyrtec D. It worked great. But it has the effect of keeping you awake, and is a 12-hour dose, vs. the 10mg 24-hour dose of regular Zyrtec. I've been trying to use the Canadian Cetirizine with store-brand Sudafed for the congestion, but it's not working all that well. I'm going to be checking out websites to see how much the Zyrtec-D is from Canada. I'm thinking that I might do well taking one of those in the morning, then a half of the 10mg Cetirizine I already have at night. By the way, I'm also a singer. I had a full-face dental x-ray done years ago and they were so blown-away by the size of my sinus cavities, they almost wanted to submit me to medical journals. May be good for going up into headvoice, but when I have any kind of sinus-related illness, it makes my life a living hell and takes me twice as long as normal people to completely drain and get over it.
