i will definitly try to make it out to this though i will most likely not be able to bring something with me i do have fishing polls and bait i could try to catch things to bbq. and bring a couple of extra polls so some of the kiddies could fish too. oh also i will prolly bring my lil bro with me too he would kill me if i went to metro beach and didnt bring him.lol

The Situation: Pot luck style BBQ

Date: Saturday July 18th

Time: 1:00 {start meeting up}

Location: Metro Beach Metro Park >>

Let us come together and celebrate the wonderfulness of summer,

friends, and juicy grilled animals

This will be held at what's refereed to as 'The Point'.. At the entrance of the park near the marina there is a Tram that will drive you out to the point, {sometimes they charge you .50c} Or you can walk out along the obvious path you will notice.

I, and some others, will be out there early to snag a good spot

I am willing to meet people out front, by the entrance to lead them back to our area.

I do need help with stuff like people coming early to help get the area ready.. Moving tables together & such

This will be a "Pot Luck" style BBQ, and that means everyone should bring a little something to contribute.. Snacks, meat, veggies, soda, charcoal.. BBQ types stuffs.

I understand the fact that money is tight for many of us, so just do what you can I am sure we can pull together a fantastic BBQ

If you are absolutely broke & will need to sell your first born just to get here, then it's cool if you don't bring anything, but your pretty face

Perhaps those who can't contribute foods, can help with other set up duties instead... PM Me about that

I'm a little foggy on exactly how to get there. The general area is clear, and probably good enough for most people. (Thus why I think its clear enough to have posted as an actual DGN event) I added a google map to the topic post. Is that the correct spot?

But, OK so you get out to that area, then what is there? A "park" like a recreational facility? With an entrance? How do we get from there to the actual "point" ?

I'd second making at least a brief list of what is getting brought and what isn't. Or at least trying to make sure that the "important" stuff is covered, maybe X2 in case someone doesn't make it. BBQ not much good without oh say.. matches. I'm guessing there aren't fire pits allowed?

Is anyone bringing baked beans, yet? I make THE BEST. Lots of bacon on top, and plenty of sorghum in the sauce (yes, I still have sorghum syrup saved from last trip down south).....and I know you ALLLLLL love bacon.
