Workout Music: What music runs through your head when exercising?

OK, you exercising-type people. What is the music you listen to when you do your exercise routines? Any particular reason? Something that fires your workout? White noise to drown out the grunting of effort? Curious minds want to know.

It doesn't have to be recorded music through earphones. It could be the song you are thinking doing that particular part of your routine.

Here is at least my running songs (the one I listen to on those six-milers I've been doing):

Gladiator Soundtrack:

  1. Progeny (2:14)
  2. The Wheat (1:03)
  3. The Battle (10:02)
  4. Earth (3:02)
  5. Sorrow (1:26)
  6. To Zucchabar (3:16)
  7. Patricide (4:08)
  8. The Emperor is Dead (1:22)
  9. The Might of Rome (5:18)
  10. Strength and Honor (2:10)
  11. Reunion (1:14)
  12. Slaves to Rome (1:00)
  13. Barbarian Horde (10:33)
  14. Am I Not Merciful? (6:33)
  15. Elysium (2:41)
  16. Honor Him (1:20)
  17. Now We Are Free (4:14)

Then:

-Gatchaman '94 4:49

-Gatchaman no Uta 2:38

-Taose! Galactor 2:45

Followed by:

-Through the Night 4:14 Outlaw Star Soundtrack

-y'know 4:07 AS SEKIRIA (BGC Tokyo 2040) Sudou Akira

-Bukkirabou na Ai ni Oboretai 3:26 AS SEKIRIA (BGC Tokyo 2040) Sudou Akira

Between Gladiator and the next three songs total out to be 1 hour, 11 minutes. It is kind of a time gauge for me without looking at a clock. It lets me know that my run is now down to 1 hour, 11 minutes (and hopefully on the way back to 50-60minutes.)

So share. It might give other people ideas on what to use, and might encourage people to get active. :)

Fuck that.

I have a *running* playlist in my itunes, but it won't let me copy and paste and there is NO WAY I am going to type it all out...

Something with a driving beat, like early Coheed & Cambria, or Early Incubus.

Chevelle, Wolfmother, Nirvana. Maybe even Benny Benassi!

I listen to rock REALLY FUCKING LOUD when I work out because I hate working out lol. I just do it because I have to.

Most of the time I just hit "shuffle" and skip what's not working, but sometimes I get in the mood for certain things...almost always fast-paced stuff, but sometimes classical music hits the spot as well.

Recent specific artists have been Hercules and Love Affair and LadyHawke.
