*chanting* KILT KILT KILT KILT KILT KILT KILT KILT KILT

 Yay for Fest and kilts!!!!

...hmmm...I haven't a sporin to speak of (I don't know that I want to look that poor this year ;)...& I don't know if I have a period shirt for that...but I have several things to shuffle through...am I to take the chanting as a sign that I should not wear pants, nor cover my knees? 'cause I DO have a very savage outfit that needs very little work done to it.

I very much enjoy a man in a kilt, but savage sounds like lots of fun too... What pattern/color is your kilt? I have lots of material for shirts maybe I have something that would work...

I have patterns for a few different kinds... I think... it can't be too hard... I do love teaching myself new things... I don't have a surger(sp?) though... I could always do a rolled hem to finish.

Got it (I think):

Can some point me to the right places to look like either one of the two in this picture:

Boots would be the key thing.

The Man in Black, all I would need (optional) is blue contacts.

I would need a wig for the Master swordsman, as my hair looks like this when it grows out that long:

Fortunately, not that grey yet.

That was my plan for last Halloween... damn this whole "money" thing! hehe

I need to add more to the costuming. Most of my costuming centered around characters in my campaigns (a doctor who was a medic in WW-I for a 1936 game, A Dr. Quest-like character for a game set in 1948, and a cyberpilot for a multi-genre game.)

Needless to say, any combination of the above may make me still out like a sore thumb...lol

Now as to the boots...

hmmmmm if i find peeps to go with me

I may need a ride if my friend's don't go that weekend. I am in Lincoln Park so you'd be passing by me on the way to the Faire.

I have a pattern for a pirate type shirt. It's either a Butterrick or Simplicity pattern. I believe you can still find the pattern at Joann fabrics. A friend sewd mine.

Silvermane has a nice pirate boot for $119 Pirate Boots and I am talking to a lady on the east coast who says she sells an identical boot for $69.
