When I read this in MissKitty's Facebook I couldn't believe it. We were all Royal Oak Corner Kid brethren. I have memories of it being freezing cold in October, yet us kids were determined to loiter. I was dying from cold and Lurch, with his GIGANTIC effing body (guy was damn near 8 foot, mmkay, or seemed like it at least ), came over and opened his trenchcoat so everyone could huddle inside. He had this WEIRD ability to mentally raise his body temperature.

He was also able to fit his giant frame into a Honda Civic for YEARS at the bafflement of all of us standing at 4th and Main. Clown car was an understatement.

He was always morbid and always daring danger. I would get pissed at him when we'd stop at gas stations and I'd go to pump gas and he'd refuse to put out his cigarette. The last time I really HUNG out with him was, well, sadly at a graveyard. It was right after another Corner Kid Legend, Cheshire, had just been brutally murdered in Flint back in '03. We ran around the graveyard all night for no reason, with my friend Stacey and her boyfriend (now husband), Jon (also Corner Kids), talking about stupid shit and reminissing since we were all so young and Cheshire's sudden murder really changed the perspective of our lives, so we just had to do SOMETHING to get our minds off it.

After that I would see him here and there at City Club, talk for a minute to catch up. He suddenly left for Arizona and I never really talked to him after that, wondered occasionally what he was up to, if he was okay, and if he was ever going to come back. Sadly...I guess he won't now.

He was too young to die, but I will not say he didn't live an action packed ridiculous fun filled life. Say hi to Cheshire for us, Lurch, we'll all see you again someday I'm sure. Let's just hope heaven has a Caribou Coffee we can all loiter outside of .

My sympanthies on your loss.

I enjoyed reading Chernobyl's memories of him. Sounds like he led an awesome life and will be missed by many.

He had faults...big ones...but we were family. I remember when I heard Prophet died and I called him, begging him to tell me it was a lie. It was the first time I seen or talked to him in two years.

Lurch and I cleaned out Prophets room together....went through all the journals and stuff. *tear*

We had too, Lurch couldn't read Latin, but I could. We looked at old pictures, laughed over "customized" stuffed animals...even went to the funeral together...trying to show some kind of strength as a pair that we couldn't find alone. Fester and Lurch....mourning over our Gomez....

I can't even attend a funeral or see the grave...at least till September....that hurts...alot.

lol...7'3 and still my little brother...kinda crazy...but I loved it...we could read each other like no-one else...he could tell when I was trying to run away from something....and I could tell when he was hiding.

never could figure out how you could loose him in a crowd though....had to keep telling him to stop sitting down.

Prophet, Lurch, and I are the three origional creators of the A-List....words and terms that should never be used in conjunction with the word "Anal". Damn late nights at Dennys...lol...got that damn thing up to 1000+...

yeah...I'm rambling....I have too....it would be hard to explain Lurch and me unless you were there.....and i don't have the words to try...not now...

:cry

OMG! When was his birthday? I didn't know him as well as some but I do remember he was a fun guy to hang out with. Always quick to give advice, defend someone who needed it or crack a smile.

Though I don't think when we were in Royal Oak he ever played "Push the Drunk" with you Rhodes, I do believe he was an avid fan.
