Ok, so last night kinda sucked, and I can't even blame it on the music or the people.

We got there early and I was all pumped, because someone in a Monte Carlo was blasting either the best of

Flock of Seagulls or their 1982 self-titled album. Either way I was pleased.

10:45P we walk in- COMPLETELY DEAD

11:30P- COMPLETELY DEAD

The music was great, but when you get to the club and not even Eleven is dancing, you know you got there too early.

Midnight- PACKED

I need to invest in something short-sleeved, because I was dying in there. Very stuffy.

CC brought the humidity inside for our dancing pleasure. I almost passed out.

And it got so crowded and loud in the middle area, I could hardly hear Hille.

PLUSSES

The music was good

Talking to Hille

Seeing Gothykitten, if for only a minute

Meeting Greyhalo

Also seeing fin, Stormknight, Osaka, Blackjack, Prick and the gone but not forgotten Saechalyn who arrived with a drag king that I thought was a man--Very embarrassing moment ensued

So with A/C and a few less people, we probably would've stayed, but it got too much so we left around 1A

Yeah, I almost dragged myself out because I was wanting to see beanternal, pomba, greyhalo and others I haven't seen in a while. Then I remembered how horrid it is this time of year. I'll have to catch you guys somewhere else for a while.

I didn't stay for very long (perhaps 90 minutes tops) and ended up missing quite a few people. I hadn't been to CC for a while and mainly went to socialize. But, there weren't many DGNers there last night. I enjoyed seeing and chattiing with prick, The Gimp, Black Jack, bean water, the eternal, fin, Rambo, and pomba gira. I couldn't handle the mugginess and water all over the floor. I was looking out for Dusty and Helena among other folks. I think I just need to plan on seeing people from the board at other events because I'm just not feeling the CC vibe anymore these days.

Maybe I can hit up the BBQ if I get out of work at a decent time. I like being able to chat with people where I can hear them and the environment is more relaxed.

Who am I missing?

I talked to roman beforehand and found out to my happy surprise i was on the "new" guest list. So even my broke ass , if i can find a ride can hobble into the place. *yay* I'm pretty sure I had a good time. Passed out a few DGN cards. Am going to attempt to make it again next week someone and try to re-crate the DGN CC presence of old. (takes a few months)

I also need to make a clear decision about where the "DGN spot" inside CC will be. It has always just been loosely defined in the past, but I want an area that newer people can go to , and know they will DGNers to chat with / meet.

Current Consecutive DGN Night Appearances: 0 (soon 1)

Greyhalo and I were talking last night about that DGN Sushi night.

Maybe we can go to my (and Burrich and Hunhee's) little local hangout Royal Oak Coney Kabob Grill

$2.99 schwarmas!

A lof of us live in the Royal Oak area, so I think it would work. Also, some of us have met at Lily's Seafood a few times. We just have to figure out a good time that would work with everyone's schedules.

The dripping water made me feel right at home given the state of my kitchen roof! Very atmospheric, too... like being in Bladerunner or something.

Hellacious super-sweet surprise of the night: DRAGONLUV!!!! She prolly thinks I'm crazy 'cos I dragged her all over introducing her to everyone I could find. I was just so stoked to experience her beautiful bright spirit in its lovely flesh, especially since I totally wasn't expecting her to be there.

I'm gonna quit drinking for a while. I think my liver is about to call Protective Services. If I'm not careful my viral load is gonna shoot back up.

You were prolly the least unmemorable person there (well, with the possible exception of the PVC twins)!

I remember you now. Gawd. I suck. Honestly it has nothing to do with the memorability level, it has to do with me being sensory-overloaded. *hugs*

Sorry, I just felt weird. The mugginess was getting to me. :X

One thing I do remember is I pretty seem to miss these Greyhalo sightings 95% of the time.

I remember EXPECTING horrific humidity as Saturday during the day was fairly bad, but I don't remember it being all that bad once I got there. Not sure if that is just a faulty memory or what.

I am realizing how little i actually remember. I can't remember actually walking in and up the stairs, I don't remember leaving. I don't remember when we left, I don't remember If i had anything to drink inside the club or not.... wow.

I know I had a plan to plant myself next to the bar/pillar area but since I don't remember much, I'm guessing I didn't remember to do that either! lol

One thing I'm always well in control of is the fact that the number of people "in total" in the place is irrelevant to me. Even if there are only 25 people in the whole place, its more about my own ability to create a good time/have fun than it is for that fun time to just happen upon me.

Its always about the few key people that I actually spend time with. I can get music , dancing and/or booze anywhere. I go there for the peeps, including new ones that I've not met before.

You are very kind. The dragon is an introvert. I can not thank you enough for hanging out with me and introducing me to others DGN members. I never thought you were dragging me around. You are very sweet to me and I appreciated it. I did learn one lesson. Not those type of high heals ever again! I have not been to City Club in like 8 to 9 years or something, before last Sunday. It was cool experience. Again, thank you for your kindness. :grouphug

I know that woman, and I'd call her a "short-haired female who likes to wear pants." Not a drag king. She's also one of the best people with whom to have a conversation, it just so happens.

      ~~~~~ Yeah, thank you for the check-in.   Happy to say it was all a misunderstanding.  But she pulled out her "ghetto" and that's when things went South.  I get very professional minded when I enter into situations like that because when someone starts bring the court into conversations, I'm in court 2 times a year, every year, so don't go there with me because I will get legal all over you.   She did try to change what she thought she might have said, but I had to call her on it because it's all in written text.  Then she apologized and we were able to have a decent conversation.   I know I joke about me talking so much that people don't hear what I say except for keywords that they are looking for, but that is exactly what happened here.  She heard "payment", "money" and "help out".  It was crazy.  I literally had to have the entire conversation all over again, but I definitely condensed it to only address those 3 words.   Things are back on track, but I emphasized that if she every needed clarification for anything, please say something first instead of jumping to conclusions, then questioning that conclusion, then answering that conclusion, then getting upset at the answer and taking it out on someone who doesn't have a clue what the San Juan Hill just happened.   But this is exactly the reason I do everything with a paper trail.

      I'm glad  that yesterday's day at work is long gone now. There was a very strong unusual energy that I felt, and couldn't get done with the day fast enough. It wasn't  the job at all. I just felt like I really needed to keep my mouth shut, to keep me from getting in situation(s) that probably wouldn't have ended well for me.
