mallochai
*jumps up and down too many times* Dude, I can't believe I didn't know about this, awesome! Thanks for the tip! I love Leiahdorus! On another note... Mr. Sunday, have you heard the postal service?
Black Sunday9
Hey mallochai it sounds like we have the same taste in music. However I am not a big fan of Postal Service. But Leiahdorus kicks so much as that they should dress as wrestlers and win the WWE title tonight on smackdown. Check your local listings.
Black Sunday9
Actually I am listening to Leiahdorus right now as we speak and I am dancing and spinning around in my living room......and I never dance usually.
mallochai
I think dancing is the kind of thing to reserve for special moments and inebriation. Yeah... I like the sound of Postal Service, though their songs aren't very memorable. hmm... lessee... what other synthpop bands do I love... I think Freezepop is hilarious. On rockin' notes, I dig Echo Image, davidmahr, eloquent, B! Machine, Fiction 8, Neuropa, Neuroactive, Echoing Green, Space March, Daybehavior, Cosmicity... and I LOVE Moulin Noir. Tall swedish guy in a corset and lipstick, very groovy sound. Now, my mind is blank again. I just really enjoy synthpop and it's sister sounds in general, though I need to work on building more of a record collection yet. I'm a big fan of A Different Drum Records, I get most of my stuff from them.

Space March - never heard of DayBehavior - They are cool Cosmicity - Yeah MArk lives about a mile from me, I've sort of known him since 1995 Never heard of the other guy. Looks like I have some research to do.

Black Sunday9
awesome! What kind of music do you like Dave?
mallochai
Joy Electric, I like quite a bit for the most part, though it varies depending on style. The first song I heard from them was "monosynth," and it just stuck with me. I've only got one album though, "we are the music makers," and I don't even have it here in Alaska. Sadly. Of the others, I've only heard OF brand new idol, haven't actually heard them, and I haven't heard of the others at all.

We could trade so much music. I think you would love Red Flag, though it depends on which album, as they were inconsistent. Monosynth is my favorite JE tune, though 'sugar rush' is extremely catchy - maybe a little too catchy. They play some "synthpop" at the clubs here, but it's mostly like the future pop stuff like Apop or Seabound......and on 80's nights you can hear DM and New Order. But as far as I know there isn't anywhere to go to hear stuff like Joy Electric or Freezepop or Leiahdorus. Are you a Depeche Mode fan? Did you get into any of the Dave Gahan and Martin Gore solo stuff?
mallochai
I wished you lived in metro Detroit. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Heh, yeah, tell me about it. If I hadn't moved to this gawdawful place for all the wrong reasons, I would be there now. Stupid, stupid, stupid girl. *bangs her head against the nearest wall.* I am indeed a Depeche Mode fan, though I didn't become one until my junior year of high school. They were fucking amazing in concert. Ah, memories. As for the solo stuff, I've heard some from each Gahan and Gore, though not much. I'm still seeking further exposure. About the only resources up here for decent synth family music is the same as anywhere else: the internet. At least there were some decent bands in kalamazoo. This place is so dead for non mountain climbers and anyone who likes any music besides country or teeny bopper punk. Or the misfits *gag.*
