Der Nister
Just what the thread title says, who are your favorites? Famous or not. Still around or not. I'm very curious to find out everyone and I have good reason to ask. Edited June 25, 2009 by Der Nister

st_masey
Das Ich. They are working with permutations of the genre far, far more sophisticated than anyone else. They are the thinking man's EBM.

Troy Spiral (13)
I like The Replacements too but they are "EBM / Electronic?" They are Indie/Post-Punk/Alternateve etc no? *tries to stay on topic* Man once you say "electronic" that covers such a huge swath of music. EBM would narrow it down a ton. *ponders a list* I seem to like every god damn thing. *shakes fist at self* I'm familiar with most of the more lets call them "Academic Artists" but very few of them impress me all that much, not that I dislike a band due to its "street cred" among the cool kids, I just don't value that street cred at ANYTHING. I can appreciate what they do, but in the end I try to remember that the reason I like music in the first place is for the enjoyment factor. Not necessarily how "important" or "influential" an artist is. I also try not to pretend that the artist that did something first means they are also the best at it. Originality is great, but is not the key to quality. Music isn't a political statement for me, unless it is actually a political statement. Sorry to say I enjoy mostly the more "mainstream" stuff still after years of listening to all lesser known artists. -Also trying to avoid a band like say .. Bigod20, MSI, Das Ich that even though I LOVE 2-3 songs by them I have no clue about their larger catalog. And One Beborn Beton NIN Project Pitchfork Apoptygma Berserk Covenant Depesh Mode DeVision Gary Newman Erasure Nitzer Ebb Front242 Toy (aka Evil's Toy) Kidney Theives Nine Inch Nails KMFDM Kraftwerk Hanzel und Gretyl Freezepop VNV Nation Kompressor Rammstien Ministry Orgy Foetus (and other projects) My Life with TKK Combichrist Feindflug OhGr Ayria Icon of Coil Welle:Erdball Wumpscut Wolfshiem .... ok i better stop typing I'll be here all day. That said I've been tending toward more alternative-ish "rock & roll" /older-school country / classical / musicals lately. Also, just because I might not like the same music as you do doesn't mean I don't love ya.
