I thought there would be some response along these lines.

I just got this when I hit the "Find Member's Posts" on Oh_My_Goth's profile. (it was scarry)...and then there was the PM sh

e sent you yesterday...

This along with the "view new content" errors are probably interrelated, I put in a ticket to IPS for this one.

Part of the reason I don't catch problems with that button is that I've only used it like 3 times in the 8 years DGN has been around. It is clearly having issues though. That particular one is a problem beyond my abilities. I'll put in a ticket for it.

Yay! It's working properly now! :)

Sorry, don't have time to scroll through pages and pages of replies. I am trying to reset the settings and not finding what I need. I want to change it so that I do not receive an email every time someone posts to a forum I have replied to in the last almost two years. I do not want to be notified of new posts at all. I only see how to change it for PM and comment notices. If someone could point me to the right spot, or just fix it for me, I would greatly appreciate it.

Ok, remember that issue I was having before? Quoted material isn't showing up in my email? Just the person's response? Its still like that.

Also, every time I come back to DGN, I have to log in.

I miss staying logged in...

...when I pressed the "delete my cookies" button *pause to giggle* I had to log back in...

..is there some way that your computer des that maybe?

My Settings > Forums > Manage Watched Topics (and usubscribe to everything)

My Settings > Forums > View/Posting/Email/Prefs (set whatever there you want or don't want)

Lots of different ways to set that up.

Yeah the "not staying logged" problem is a browser/cookies/local computer problem that plagues websites throughout the land.

Stock Answer Here:

This is a fairly common problem where virtually everyone can login just fine, but a few who were logged in just fine all along, randomly just cant seem to stay logged in anymore.

For several random reason there is always a few browsers the refuse to take the new cookie right away when the cookies on the board are changed/updated and keep trying to login with the old one. Sometimes this happens without any changes to the board just due to cookies expiring / renewing and getting screwed up. (you need cookies so the website can give you custom info, and remember your settings etc.)

The result is either you cant login at all (usually it LOOKs like your about to login after you put in your info... then, it just logs you right back out again) and then other times you are able to login , but right after you post you get booted.

Sometimes it can be hard to get rid of the old (bad) cookie. Due to various reasons to many to list. The first thing to do (without clicking on ANYTHING on the website) is to delete your cookies. Unfortunately sometimes DGN gives out all sorts of funny-named cookies so just deleting the one thats called "detroitgohtic.net" wont do it. Then also delete all offline content so that your browser doesnt accidentally get a new cookie from your OLD offline version of DGN. Then close the browser and open it back up again. Sometimes (again for lots of weird reasons) you have to do this twice or more before it finally "takes".

There are lots of different cookie related settings that can help, or make this problem worse depending on your situation.

Whatever happened to that feature on your profile where you could save snippets of text that only you could see so you could use them in later posts or whatever?

click the dropdown arrow on your profile link, and then click settings. it should be the "manage notes" option.

i think that's what you're asking for!?

When you have someone on ignore, the white bar that says:

"This post is hidden because you have chosen to ignore posts by ____________ . View it anyway?" The name of the person you are ignorning and "View it anyway?" are printed in white, so you can't see those things, unless you highlight them. You can click on them, you just can't see the words.

...could that be that way because you are trying to ignore them? :hrhr:
