Costumes 2009

Recommended Posts

I'm still trying to come up with a couple of costumes idea this year, but can't decide. Last year I had a gorilla outfit. I was going to pick up Captain America or Space Ghost, but I didn't like how they looked when I tried them.

What is everyone else thinking of being?

I still want to be a total dork and get together with my old ghost hunting team and wear Ghostbusters uniforms, but not all my friends can afford it.

:X

So...I'm not sure, haha!

If we don't do a theme this year, like we normally do, I'll maybe go as something hilarious with a mask or lots of face paint (lets my get into character more...like last year when I was the The Joker and the year before when I was an old man)...or, maybe Tinkerbell.

Sadly.

lol

I'd only be Tinkerbell because a couple of my friends and my one friend's family calls me Tinkerbell/Tink.

Or, maybe, my friends want to do a Disney theme? We'll see. (Random, I know :p )

But, I have a picture of a Tinkerbell costume on my laptop, so maybe I'll post it later.

Please tell me you're not paying that much for a Halloween costume. Seriously, check Jo-Ann Fabric because they probably have a fabric that is similar.

Hahahha! Yes! I know!

Its incredibly expensive! And I can't even try it on! :p

I doubt I will buy it.

I think that my 'steam-punk-inspired-WH40K-Inquisitor' will have to wait :X (Troy Spiral WILL bow to me)

...but, I am working on something SPEC-mutha'-fuckin'-TACULAR!

I did steampunk this weekend. It was freaking AWESOME!!! Finding copper accent pieces is a BITCH! I've decided a true steampunk outfit will always be a work in progress.

I have something in the works for this year's costume, it's a couples one, but I think it will be adorably fantastic! :)

There was a huge Halloween warehouse-type place in Troy (at Big Beaver and John R, I think) that sold a Tinkerbell costume. It was 50 bucks, and pretty decent. I've been looking for a good Tink costume for about 5 years now. You could try that when they open up again..

And I'm at a loss. I'm thinking (in order of preference):

Illumina Leketari Baleminatchai from Fifth Element (Both outfits...costume change in the middle of the night)

Alice from RE:Extinction (I'm already mapping out each piece of clothing I need)

Padme in Clone Wars (you know, the hot two-piece)

Or Tink. A Very Dead Tink. :)

Or maybe I'll just be a dead black goth chick...that's too easy, though.

Awesome! Thanks for telling me.

And...if you went as a "dead Tink" and I went as a "normal" Tink...that'd be AWESOME.

Not sure yet!

Actually I hadn't given it any thought..

Surely I'll break out the nurse again, and the schoolgirl, and the catgirl maid... I can do Alice but that's easy...same with Mad Hatter. I'll finish my Halloween theme skirt I was making last year and never finished...and possibly my half/half costume as well..should get wigs for that. So many options!

    • ~~~~~ Yeah, thank you for the check-in.   Happy to say it was all a misunderstanding.  But she pulled out her "ghetto" and that's when things went South.  I get very professional minded when I enter into situations like that because when someone starts bring the court into conversations, I'm in court 2 times a year, every year, so don't go there with me because I will get legal all over you.   She did try to change what she thought she might have said, but I had to call her on it because it's all in written text.  Then she apologized and we were able to have a decent conversation.   I know I joke about me talking so much that people don't hear what I say except for keywords that they are looking for, but that is exactly what happened here.  She heard "payment", "money" and "help out".  It was crazy.  I literally had to have the entire conversation all over again, but I definitely condensed it to only address those 3 words.   Things are back on track, but I emphasized that if she every needed clarification for anything, please say something first instead of jumping to conclusions, then questioning that conclusion, then answering that conclusion, then getting upset at the answer and taking it out on someone who doesn't have a clue what the San Juan Hill just happened.   But this is exactly the reason I do everything with a paper trail.

    • I'm glad  that yesterday's day at work is long gone now. There was a very strong unusual energy that I felt, and couldn't get done with the day fast enough. It wasn't  the job at all. I just felt like I really needed to keep my mouth shut, to keep me from getting in situation(s) that probably wouldn't have ended well for me.
