Jewelry/adornments you'll NEVER remove

Recommended Posts

This topic is for those of us who have jewelry and/or other body adornments (aside from tattoos) which we will never remove. By "body adornments," I refer to dread beads, bracelets, necklaces, piercing jewelry, rings that bind, etc.

I have a lovely necklace given to me by my cariad-- a silver and enamelwork charm, in the shape of a Welsh "love spoon," which I will never remove from my body. I am also still wearing my rainbow batik handfasting cord, which won't leave my wrist until it rots off-- and I have made a red wool mojo bag to keep it close to my heart, when it does.

Come clean, and tell us about your sentimental jewelry, DGNers.

On my right ring finger, I wear my Masonic ring that I received after becoming a Master. It is sacred to me and does not leave me.

My great grandmother was a Matron of the Eastern Star, and she was buried wearing that ring.

I didn't mean to dredge up mortal pain. I have a couple of tatuajes dedicados, for the people who left me wondering here on this rock. I am only curious. This is not a "call out," I'm calling upon my friends' strength. :)

I never remove either of these rings. Though, if I was told to choose one over the other, I would keep the sapphire star over the green cats-eye.

Why?

The sapphire star once belonged to my mother and has her initials (K.M.C.D) engraved on the inside of the band along with 3-22-76.

My, now deceased, grandfather had given it to her. She was 14 and a few months when she got it...I was around the same age when my mother gave it to me.

The cats eye was just given to me by my mother after her honeymoon in Puerto Vallarta in '04.

It's adjustable!

I never used to wear any jewelry, but I got used to wearing a ring again after I got engaged (long story) and when it ended I just started wearing my class ring again. It reminds me that if I could finish high school with all the issues I had, that I can do anything.

And I do wear my heart on my sleeve if that does count, most of you who know me pretty well do know that though.

You don't have to delete anything, dear. :)

No, she doesn't. :) I was making an attempt at "polite." It's only my way, trying to be kind and proper.

Perhaps we should begin another thread about tatuajes dedicados/mementos mori.

Lol oh God, no. Big Sad Fest. I've done enough today. Although it would be interesting...

I've done enough sad for the day, myself.

I asked to be shot NOW in at least one other thread. Remember that Welshman you asked to "speak again"? He just went back home, and I'm stuck without that beautiful voice.

Perhaps, another day's topic. I'm bordering upon emo, and I dare not get closer to it.

I wear a really pretty bracelet my boyfriend got me almost all the time. And a bunch of rings that all have meanings. Two celtic rings from my friend, a mushroom ring from another friend, and a spine ring that my mom got me for good grades :) I also wear a spider ring too lol. And I wear this small tetragrammaton pentacle necklace (that i got on a family trip) almost all the time to (once its on it usually never comes off)

oh ya I forgot my body jewelry constantly stays in.

I wear 2 rings daily (7 others are usually there but have no reason) I tried to stop wearing one of them for a while but felt wrong without it, it was my engagement ring, but I didn't receive it until the day after he died (he'd gotten it from my family). I have now added my boyfriends dog tags, I wish I never ad to remove them but can't sleep in them because they tangle in my hair and choke me a bit,so I put them back as soon as my feet hit the floor in the morning they mean a lot and are always on unless he asks me to take them off when I'm dressed up since they are not exactly dressy.
