ManicQueen
I've been taking Yasmin for a little over a month now. This stuff is supposed to make your periods shorter and lighter... and that's exactly what it does. My period came and 2 days later is was gone with barely any evidence that it was even there. I barely had any blood loss, it was incredible! I was gonna try Seasonale because of the 4 periods a year but then I read about the break through bleeding and decided against it. Anyone else know of any other good BC that has benefits?
Brenda Starrr
I don't need birth control since I can't have any more children. However, the thought of having lighter, faster periods would make me (and Wayne) VERY happy. I'll have to ask my doc if I can use it. I'm always so miserable when I get my period. Day 1 (today), I feel okay. Tomorrow I will be in a lot of pain and quite nauseous. Saturday, the same but less so. I just got off the phone with his office. I'll see him next week and hopefully, he will let me try it.
Guest MsMaldoror
I've been on Loestrin for years, and I don't have periods anymore. I'm not sure if it has that same effect on most women who take it though. My doctor said that it's not a problem. But, if I ever want to get pregnant, it will just take longer once I'm off the pill. I don't miss them, and I don't feel any less of a woman for not having them.

mallochai
I was on Yasmin for a while. I need a really high hormone pill or my perdiods last seven days consistently. I'm at an average of four right now, but when I was on Yasmin, they were super short. It was awesome. Then my insurance changed, and I couldn't afford thirty bucks a pack anymore. Boo. I have never taken oral contraceptives before..... I find myself to be rather emotional? Edgy? Gained about 15 lbs, a boob size and a pants size. (Keep in mind quit smoking at the same time...) -( Not sure if this might have something to do w/ all of the above?) I have heard of BC causing Depression, the blues etc.....true? Maybe it is just the not smoking?????? Arg.... OH YEAH, can this be a girl thread only?

OH YEAH, can this be a girl thread only? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I was on Ortho Novum for 8 years, and I was okay on it for awhile, but towards the end of the time I was taking it, I started getting really bad mood swings - to the point that I thought I was bipolar. I went to the gyno and she said that I was on too high of a dose of birth control, so I got switched to Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo, which I really liked, but I had to stop taking it because I couldn't afford it, and my blood pressure went through the roof. I've been off the pill for 7 months, and my cycle is really screwed up, so I'm going to be going back on Ortho Tri Cyclen again the next time I get my period. The last time my boobs felt like that was about a week after giving birth.. ohhh the pain! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No. Auntie Flo isn't here yet. Ever since I started taking Yasmin, they feel heavier. This isn't unusual, since I had the same experience last time I was on BC. It's just been forever since I've felt this way.
