the eternal
Who is the least talented man of the last quarter century? TygerLili
OMG, yes, Limp Bizkit's version of "Faith"...*shudders* I want to say I was in about 6th or 7th grade when that song came out, and everyone kept saying how great it was. I was like "What the hell? Do you people have ears?" I have no idea who "sings" it, but I heard a hip hop song about a month ago that was clearly taking it's melody from Flock of Seagulls' "I Ran." It was pretty horrible. Edited August 2, 2009 by TygerLili

Slogo
Has Limp Bizkit ever done anything of value? Durst's Behind Blue Eyes made me cry. Not in the "oh...he's so deep" way. But in the "NOOOOOOOOOOOO" way.

pomba gira
Has Limp Bizkit ever done anything of value? No. That stupid fuckwit is a complete waste of, well, everything. And Michael Bolton deserves to be hung by his heels and whipped for desecrating two incredible songs. As for me, I REALLY hate that utterly lame cover of Patti Smith's "Because the Night"... who was it, 10,000 Maniacs? They do a bang-up job of removing every last race of intensity and passion from the song.
n0Mad
Ooo, I like 10,000 Maniacs. When Natalie Merchant first went solo, she had decent stuff but it just progressively kept getting worse.
Mean Salley
Here are my picks for two most of the most tasteless and zero talent covers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Z5OnLhcEEM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cgcaYz8iXNI BOOOOOOOOOO!!! I'll argue this to my dying day. Excessive distortion and flat singing/screaming is a cover up for a lack of talent. Singing "flat" or off key does not make music "dark". Anyone who knows shite about music and is not a dumb goth will tell you this. However, countless industrial bands have mastered this. I dare them to ever remove their distortion and see what they're left with. Because I guarantee they don't have voices or performance talent like Madonna or Rod Stewart. As far as Revolting Cocks go, I just expected better. How many people would buy tickets for Bigod20 unplugged? But I guess if all you're used to listening to for 15 years is excessive distortion, with screamy flat vocals, you'd have to settle for dumb gimmicks. I like some of Manson's other covers, but boo to Sweet Dreams. And again, he'll never sing like Annie Lennox.
TygerLili
I'll probably get "booed" for this, but pretty much any cover Marilyn Manson has ever done, which is most of his stuff. Dude, write some music of your own!

Dude, write some music of your own! No boos from me. I'm not big on Manson at all, cover or original. Well, I do like "Coma White" and "The Nobodies" is okay but I'm not generally a fan of much else from him.
Destroit
Found it! This has been happening A LOT more lately than I've been comfortable with. Usually it doesn't bother me, but Kanye West ripped off "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger", that one girl ripped off the Numa Numa song and it was HORRIBLE, someone ELSE ripped off "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" recently (heard it on the radio about a week ago) and lately at the Chinese Buffet last week they were playing 95.5 and a song came on that WOULD have been your average shitty pop song...however there was something DIFFERENT about this particular song: I knew the background melody from someplace. After three minutes it had dawned on me that she COMPLETELY ripped (without changing what-so-ever, as in used the ACTUAL recording of the ORIGINAL SONG) off the song "Hide and Seek" by Imogen Heap. The reason this makes me soooo angry is that all of the artists that I mentioned that had been ripped from are underground artists. It's not like what P. Diddy was doing in the late 90s and ripping the melody from very popular songs out of the 1960s-1970s that everyone KNEW were "stolen" from these old classics. These new "artists" are put together by record companies, have NO talent, and even worse...are ripping the ACTUAL talent of other hard-working artists that aren't as heard of, or are foreign, because they didn't get lucky and fall into some record producer's lap magically like they did. What makes me EVEN MORE PISSED is that all of my preppy friends NEVER liked shit like Daft Punk or Imogen Heap but the second Kayne Gayfish West comes out with it on the radio in a horribly botched and mixed version, it's "genius" according to the two brain cells most of preppy people have . It's soooo hard not to hate preppy people, I try not to, really I do and there are a few that are okay...but for the most part *blech* it's like hanging out with little kids or Juggalos all day . Sounds harsh but that's just in MY own personal experience from being alive 24 years, I still give everyone an equal chance until they prove to me why I shouldn't. DJ Saint
Believe it or not, BiGod 20 has a TON of other great songs that aren't covers (The Bog, Carpe Diem, On the Run, etc...). Surprised that the cover song was the one people latched onto... maybe it had something to do with Sire Records push to get them known in the US after being a big deal in Germany. Worst covers of all time has to easily be... 01. Love Is A Drug Abuser (click to listen) 02. Paddy Is My DJ (click to listen) 03. Und Wenn (click to listen) 04. So Klingt Liebe (Demo) (click to listen) 05. Love You to the End (Demo) (click to listen) 06. The Sun Always Shines on TV (live) (click to listen) 07. It's a Sin (live) (click to listen) 08. Big in Japan (live) (click to listen) 09. The Great Commandment (live) (click to listen) 10. Smalltown Boy (live) (click to listen) 11. Blue Monday (live) (click to listen) 12. True Faith (live) (click to listen) 13. Sometimes (live) (click to listen) 14. Only You (live) (click to listen) Way to take some great originals and COMPLETELY BUTCHER them THEN offer them as horrid live recordings... best cover version I've heard lately was Peter Murphy doing Joy Divisions "Transmission"... awesome! And LOL to Slim Thug...
TygerLili
I especially like how she gets all intense and serious, like she thinks she's reciting great poetry or something. ~Tszura~
If you could hear a song being raped...........this would be it... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZqEqypU4cs And to make it worse, they thought they would be cool, and get that ass crack Lol Tolhurst in the video, too! SHAME!!!! On the other side....the two versions of LoveSong I think are good are the ones from Snake River Conspiracy, and Jack Off Jill
n0Mad
On the other side....the two versions of LoveSong I think are good are the ones from Snake River Conspiracy, and Jack Off Jill Yes! Most of the time I think a cover sucks. Sometimes I think a cover is good and even as good as the original, just different. Very, very rarely do I think a cover is better than the original. The Cure's "Lovesong" is just great and should not be touched, ever, by anyone. But Snake River Conspiracy, I absolutely love it and dare say it's better than the original. It will ALWAYS get me off the floor, so I guess if any DJ is ever sick of seeing my fat ass twirling around out there, all they have to do is throw this POS on and problem solved. I'll probably get "booed" for this, but pretty much any cover Marilyn Manson has ever done, which is most of his stuff. Dude, write some music of your own! Not that he's all that good when he's original either... Nah, I can tolerate (and even go so far as like, though not love) a few Manson songs, I'm just not a huge fan. I want to claw my ears off every time they play his Personal Jesus though. And it makes me cry because a lot of my friends in Japan didn't know Depeche Mode and thought that was originally a Manson song (which I found out when I tried to sing it at karaoke and everyone was like, oh Manson! Noooooooooooooo).
