Charge card debt...ever been sued?

..i have never had credit cards.. :blushing

Don't ever get them either. They are a rip off. You do not need to build credit to do things like buy a house. Get a Visa check card. Works just like a credit card without going into debt. So many people think that having credit cards are like a status symbol. The only thing they stand for is being in debt.

Words of wisdom there. I knew someone who thought they were living the life with their credit card spending, later I find out about the 30,000 dept they had been hiding. It's not cool, I'd rather not have any and live within my wadges then to have that monkey on my back.

YOu can call either Capitol One of the collection agency and offer a settlement. As in " I can pay you $500 right now" but you have to pay it right away and in full.

What you need to try to do is ummmm, stop spending $5, $20 here and there and eat at home. You'll have the extra $$ before you now it. Sorry to be so harsh, but I'm trying to help.

Also, anyone looking to find a way to dig themselves out of debt. Try this guy www.daveramsey.com He is awesome. He has a daily radio show. I believe you can listen to the archives on line. He's not a get rich quick guy, he's a financial counselor.

Good news. I received a letter and a form from the lawyer and I am going to make monthly payments of $50 till its paid off. We have entered an agreement which means no trial to deal with. I am wondering though if I still need to be there for my pretrial date.

As for spending money here and there....i pay cash for EVERYTHING now and usually when we go out to eat my husband pays for it...not me. He does not own a charge card and i have 2 but with low limits. :grin

Most of my debt is old debt and from when I was 18.
