Jordan
I am going to be in Sterling heights for two days, and I was curious on places to go eat, I dont mind doing some driving to get there. I am looking for places that a food would like, doesn't have to be expensive. Just looking for food or restaurants that they do not have here in Texas ( Dallas) thanks again all. TheLordOfSins
Theres a place called Pheonix Coney Island just north of 18 and Van Dyke, totally worth it!
prick
Try Loon River Cafe about a mile south of there or so. Excellent wild fish and game menu and the atmosphere is fantastic.
Jordan
what kinda food isn't in dallas? thats the problem. We have just about everything. But what I ment and didnt express is chain restaurants. A good burger joint or mom and pop diner type places.. etc. We have an abundence of great food options here but since we are up in Detroit for a bit we just wanted to try new food.. Thanks guys.. only a few more weeks.

xenoterracide
I do like the Fuddruckers (hamburgers) there... Phoenix has an awesome staff... but it always felt like a local thing to me. Umm... if you like sushi there's a place on Mound I think it's "Tokyo Sushi & Seoul BBQ". I never paid attention ot it's name It's gotta be past Hall on the left. There's also Golden Harvest for Sushi and Chinese in warren, The Fusion Club is underneath. Hmm... My roommates liked Jamboozies as a dive bar. I kinda liked Doolie's which is actually in Utica. Outside of that what are you lookin for?

taysteewonderbunny
mom and pop type places that are not chain restaurants I take it you've never been to Sterling Heights. If you don't want chain, avoid the major east-west routes (like Hall Road/M-59) and go hunting down the north-south ones. Good luck.

Im in Sterling Heights for a few days, but have a rental car and also staying in Canton,West land,Romulus, but willing to travel to reasonable distance for good food. Ive heard SHts is very nice part of town. Ive been to Detroit metro area once before. .but still learning.

Then perhaps you should look here. There's many good suggestions on it for all areas and most recommendations are NOT chains.
