People's Art Festival - THIS WEEKEND!

Recommended Posts

Last year over 14,000 people joined over 200 visual artists, filmmakers, musicians and other performance artists to celebrate the second launch of the People’s Arts Festival (PAF) at The Russell Industrial Center in Detroit.

This year's Festival planners expect that crowd to more than double – once again securing its claim to being the largest real arts festival in the City of Detroit.

Several City Club regulars have tables there - at least 4 that I know of (plus at least a couple more City Club-goers who might not qualify as "regulars"). I will be selling a few items there myself. Please come and say hi at our booth - #106. :)

Saturday night Satori Circus and Oblivion Entertainment are on the line-up to perform as well!

(Hey, why haven't they advertised here yet??)

So it should be an all-around GREAT TIME!

Full list of performers and other information can be found at the official website, here!

The Russell is just kinda an all-around cool spot to begin with. I am very excited to be exhibiting there, and very excited for this event! It will also be my own very first art fair ever, so I'm super excited (if a little unprepared)!

I hope to see you there!

make sure to check out the electronic music showcase in building 4

ADAL: All Detroit, All Live.

No turntables or CD players. Live, original electronic music from Detroit artists spanning, IDM, experimental, dubstep, house, hip-hop, techno and more.

Building 4 is across the parking lot from everything else. The ADAL stage is inside.

For those with youngsters, we will have kids art activities right outside of building 4.

Adults can take part in building an enourmous sculpture to be revealed later that night. Come find us and get your hands dirty!

Oblivion was originally booked. Due to unforeseen circumstances and changes in performers availabilities, the performance has been canceled. We would rather bow out gracefully, then try to throw up something that was not the quality you have come to expect from us due to lack of time to get it top notch. We work with many talented performers, and we are all working hard revamping some favorites as well as creating new scenes. You will be seeing us before too much longer. I will keep you posted!

Hugs and spankings,

Kimberly Sinical :spank

D: I was looking forward to finally getting to see the troupe. Oh well.

I guess they won't have a final act on that stage at all then? It seems like leaving them in the lurch so close to the event would be worse... (or, well, maybe you canceled earlier and they just didn't update the site) but ::shrug:: oh well.

It'll still be a great event/weekend and I hope everyone can make it out and have a fun time!

Not my area. I was told it was within the acceptable window of time for show biz. It was not today by any means, I'm just slow responding, having a hard time keeping up with so many sites and messages (unless its in the sexuality forum);). I am by no means an official spokesperson, nor did I have any part in the discussion. I just did not want all my friends, and those I don't yet know, on DGN to go and expect to see Oblivion, and then not. I do not know the Festival's plan. I suggested if we were going to cancel, to at least give them the performers contact we did have still able so that perhaps they could attempt to set something up if they wanted.

Yes, absolutely! It sounds like a wonderful event. I am hoping to squeeze it into my weekend. Enjoy everyone!
