KFC Double Down sandwich

I'm practically a professional fattie, with eating habits not necessarily weight, and have passed by KFC with money in my pocket asking the same question: "Do I dare?" Sadly, I have not found the courage to tackle a Double Down yet. One day I will pass by my local KFC bravely and add more calories to my regimen than I ever need in one sitting...but until that day comes, I will be hitting up Rally's 2 for $3 menu :crybaby:.

I really don't see what all the fuss is over this. It's just like a chicken sandwich without the bun, so you're saving on carbs there. They just add another piece of chicken so that's more protein. The big down side is the fried skin, but they do have a grilled option available.

Well, I know what I am going to do before trying this:

1. Make sure the heart team is on standby for a quadruple bypass.

2. Pop enough Lipitor to make my muscles turn to mush (rhabdomyolysis is a side effect of statins in ultra-high doses; read about Baycol (now off the market.))

3. Order two of them. One to try, one to be sure. :rofl:

Well, if the carbohydrates don't kill you, (no, they don't need a bun, they have enough carbs in that breaded fried mixture to kill a diabetic), then the fat will.. but even if that doesn't kill you and you get the grilled version, the sodium will kill you from the hypertension. :) Enjoy! :)

Thing is, it isn't even that great if you're trying to bulk, less calories for a greater cost than a chicken breast but it costs more, plus the breading will torpedo any thought of a clean bulk.

if it fits into one's macro ratios, it should be fine, and what does "breading" have to do with a "clean bulk"?

Should clarify, when I was trying gain muscle mass and strength without much gain in fat I was on the anabolic diet which means I was supposed to be taking in 30ish g of carbs max on non carb loading days. The breaded double down has slightly more than a third of that in one sitting. The unbreaded one would have been fine, but it still costs more than a chicken breast. I am a fan of the high fat content though.

ah, i see. there are many types of "clean bulks" - to my way of thinking, it just means one isn't eating a bunch of highly-processed crap just to get extra calories. i use the same basic macro ratios for both a cut and a bulk... usually try to stay around 33/33/33 (fat/carbs/protein) but always at least 1g protein per # LBM. i've never tried the low-carb thing & don't have much interest in it!

I hate it, and don't stay on it long, but this last time I gained 35lbs and lost 3% bodyfat at the same time. I'm trying to keep my weight up, so when I cut to fight I'm right at the 265 weight limit. I've already learned how much it sucks to be the small guy in the division (as a grappler anyway).
