things are in motion to start a new weekly club night.

personally,i am leaning towards sundays, but a surprising amount of people have been saying we should do a monday weekly.

what do you guys think???

no drama please, this is just to get some opinions.

a good Monday club night is special. I remember big fun times at The Chamber at the Majestic back in the mid-'90s, and insane times at the Warehouse before that. At least I'm pretty sure it was the Warehouse, lol! Some place in the old Rivertown area, to be sure.

Having said that, I'm betting Sunday will be the more popular choice here.

I would say with us doing over 500 every week and lately in the 650's trying to compete directly against an established night might be difficult. I would hope wherever you are looking at can offer as nice of environment as what the crowd currently has or it will make things harder. That being said diversity is a good thing. It will will make both bars work harder to offer their customers the most they can to compete for customer loyalty.

Not The Works. I do the Booking for Club Sin (1st floor of Blondies), I am planning to start a night there. Club Sin is a nice venue, clean, pleanty of dancing & seated area. Drinks are decently priced and the parking lot is fenced in & secure with plenty of space. There is a kitchen as well.

I like Club Sin a lot actually if I remember it right.

The area where Sin is located is really shitty. Had a friend get carjacked at the venue just last month. I would under no circumstances recommend going their at night.

there is nothing in the area where club sin is except closed down warehouses/business's & vice head quarters. there is barely any walk by traffic. the parking lot is fenced in & secured.

perhaps you're friend was at the corktown, the works, or some of the other venues on michigan ave where drama heppens sometimes. but, cars get broken in to & people get robbed EVERY where, ann arbor included.

technically, the area where city club is located is far worse then where sin is located and people have been going there forever (yourself included).

I'll definitely come out and check it out either night! I used to drive through there every time I went to City when I lived south and 75 was closed. I don't think it's that bad. I don't go to Necto because it's too far for us - this is easier. Or, well, that's the main reason. So I'd definitely come - not every week, but definitely sometimes! But what style of music will this night be leaning towards?

As far as crime goes, it can happen anywhere. Going to Club Sin or anywhere else, anything could happen. Hundreds of people go to City Club each weekend, and many cars have been broken into there. It can happen anywhere. I had my car broken into several times, and the worst was in Bloomfield Hills, not a bad area at all.

As far as what night to hold this event, well, Monday would be competing with Necto, but there could be people closer to Detroit that would come out that might not be able to go to Necto. At the same time, there's nothing in this scene for Sundays... It's hard to say...
