Things you used to like to do but have just stopped doing.

Recommended Posts

I am finding that as I get older, there are certain activities that I used to enjoy doing with my time that I simply seem to have stopped doing... not because of time or money necessarily, but because of mindset.

What are some of yours?

(Here are some of mine)

-Listening to CD's on headphones late at night.

-Watching several movies with friends.

-Gaming.

-Walking around downtown in the summer nights.

-Long conversations about deep stuff with friends.

MTG Night, but I plan to eventually start that back up... one of these days.

I used to go out more, but for the general stress and funds going to other things I haven't done much of that either. I miss the dancing mostly.

Bonfires in the backyard, but that only has to do with me being lazy and not having people over more often.

I fixed the fireplace this summer so gosh darn it I'm gonna enjoy reading by it.

Reading actual books. I used to read voraciously but now it's extremely hard for me to make it through an actual novel. Manga, magazines, short stories I can manage... but for the first time in my life I have a whole shelf of unread books. Some of which I HAD to have and in fact spent years searching for.

Making jewelry. I think I don't do it mainly 'cos my eyes are so bad nowadays... it's really hard for me to focus on closework.

Having a car in the garage.

(no tools, no room in the garage and currently, I can not lift my garage door)

Reading for enjoyment.

(all I read now is textbooks and class related stuff)

Driving because I just felt like it.

(I drive way too much on a daily basis to even care anymore)

Congratulations!

You win the thread!

I agree!

For me, travel and the ability to just get up and go where ever I want, whenever I want -regardless. I guess it comes with a change in mindset, I have come to the mindset that my son is more important then anyone one or anything - including myself, my wants, and in all reality, my impulses. There is nothing more important to me then giving Keegan something that I never had, a stable, loving, nurturing and yet autonomous up bringing.

I guess you could say drugs, but then again that wasn't because a change in mindset (and really in the end I no longer "enjoyed" I "needed" - HUGE difference). That Meg is dead, she died.. literally and a new Meg was born.

Other things I "make" time for, because I still enjoy them and its important to have just "me time" =).
