To tell you the truth I was expecting a picture of Dee Snider...

However, the picture was a poodle that looked like a buffalo...or did they actually cross breed them and didn't tell the truth?

It's fine (and very cool-looking, I might add), if the animals enjoy grooming. Some dogs and cats do. But a few of these dogs don't really look too thrilled with their new 'dos (namely the football player, and the horse). It may have been a traumatic experience for them.

Anyone remember a few years back, when that woman was selling pierced cats? Now THAT is cruel, and going entirely too far.

Yeah, I've had dogs that like attention so much they'd sit through just about anything, so I don't think a funny haircut's going to kill them. But, I'd never do it if the dog didn't like alot of grooming attention. The panda was cute though. Some of those designs were a bit much, even for me.

Personally don't have any problem with this... most dogs seem to enjoy being made to look stupid. As long as no dangerous or irritating substances are being put on them, it's all kicks & grins. Don't see how this is essentially any different from dressing them up in idiotic little outfits.

Bottom line: there are too many real instances of cruelty & neglect out there, for me to fret over something like this.

I know animals enjoy the attention, but I'm betting they can sense the difference between being gawked and laughed at versus being given positive and loving attention. I'm with jynxxx~It's the traumatizing that I would worry about.

I really hope that this dog lives in warm climates... I don't think its right to take off most of the animal's hair for the sake of getting a good design..... these competitions aren't held just during the summer, either.... poor dog... *sigh*
