Things that make you go "Grrr..."

Don't know if they have Moe's Southwestern Grills up in Michigan. We just started going to them near us - great burritos. Particularly when you have a "B1G1 free" coupon from HotCoupons.

Anyway, the way the one we go to is set-up, you walk in, and there's a sitting area to the left, and immediately to your right. RIGHT inside the door is a big billboard with their menu on it. Sorta straight ahead about a couple feet from the billboard is where the burrito-making kiosk starts, sorta like a cafeteria counter. You can step to the right and read the billboard, or walk kinda straight ahead and go to where the burrito-making begins.

When we walked in, there were a couple of guys reading the billboard figuring out what they wanted. Since we always order the same thing and don't need to read the menu, we just walk up to the first station where you order your custom-made burrito. Technically, the line doesn't start at the menu board, you have to step FROM the menu board area TO the front of the cafeteria-like kiosk. Which is what we did - getting in line behind everyone else. (There are no guiderails or ropes designating these areas.)

I'm about to order my "Joey Bag of Donuts" (trust me - it's a BURRITO, see Moe's website for clarification), when I hear the guys from the menu board calling at me. I can't remember the exact words, but it was equivalent to "hey, WE'RE next, lady, who do you think you are???". So my husband and I take about 4 steps behind ourselves to get behind the guys who NOW are in line behind us. They were so attitudinal, I felt it necessary to explain ourselves and said, "you guys seemed to not be in line yet while you figured out what you wanted to order" and they just sorta shrugged their shoulders and looked at me like I'm some piece of crap.

Grrrr... I SO don't cut in front of people, and DEFINITELY let people know when they've stepped in front of me. But my tact is more like, "Excuse me, but maybe you didn't realize I was here first."

Jon was so pissed he wanted to leave, but I'll be damned if I'm gonna let a couple yuppies in weejuns turn me away from a Joey.
