Pontiac -- A woman facing time for violating terms of her probation can expect to spend even more time in jail after trying to smuggle drugs inside the Oakland County Jail by concealing them in some of her body fat, sheriff's deputies said.

Monique Hyder, 40, of Waterford Township appeared before Oakland Circuit Judge Lisa Gorcyca on Monday afternoon for sentencing for violating terms of her parole in a June 2008 child abuse conviction.

Hyder's bond was revoked and she was taken to a court detention area, where a routine strip search was conducted by Oakland County Sheriff's Deputy Denise Regal.

Regal found a small baggie Hyder had apparently concealed beneath a flap of excess skin.

Upon examination, the deputy found it contained a small quantity of suspected cocaine and several pills, authorities say.

While deputies say prisoners frequently try to smuggle drugs into the jail, this is the first time in recent memory someone tried to take advantage of body fat to do the job.

Hyder is 5 feet tall and weighs 220 pounds, police said

How coincidental and ironic, that this woman's last name is "Hyder." :hrhr:

I guess they'll have to start doing "flab checks" at OCJ, along with the usual x-rays and cavity searches.

I honestly doubt this is the first instance of this happening..just the first time anyone's been caught.

Maybe....she didn't know they were there? xD

I mean, there's plenty of cases where people have had stuff in their rolls and didn't know it.\

For instance, while doing my clinicals for my CNA certification, a woman came in thinking she had an infection...it was in fact a very moldy piece of old hot dog. :secret:

...At least, that would be my excuse if I were 'caught in the act'.

    • I will say it isn't all bad yet though.  We survived four years of the orange asshole.  We might survive another four.  All is not lost, until it is. There are those on that side that are going to do everything in their power to take and keep that power though.  Instead of the illusion of a one party system masquerading as a two party system, it really will just be a one party system.  People are talking about actively moving out of the US and renouncing their citizenship, or revolution if it comes to that. The woke and DEI scare tactics of the Russians, Chinese, and others have set in.  They have been trying to debase the USA for decades now ever since the world wars and I think  it's really starting to pick up steam.  All isn't lost yet, but it's currently 90 seconds to midnight, and that number is decreasing all the time. We just have to wait and see.  If people hit their breaking point by losing their comfort and convenience (and possibly their food/housing) then people may be held accountable for their misdeeds. Also the president is now a convicted felon so...  LOCK HIM UP!
