DJ Nocker
I am a huge fan of Gilliam's movies (I own around 5 or 6)..and I am a sucker for Fantasy films (I like them more than horror movies, if you know me, that means I like em alot) I recently thought of trying out "Tideland". I was wondering what some people thought about it.
Guest Megalicious
I was rather beautiful. EXCELLENT acting (specially by the little one). It is extremely dark, and disturbing ... but funny (at least to some of us) and just all around stunning ( character, visually, and performance wise. I loved it and would highly recommend it. DJ Nocker
Is it funny that whenever I post on the movie thread, the first thing I think of is.. "Hope that Meg and Phee give an opinion" You two seem to have the same opinions on movies as I do, its neat...we should have a movie night. Guess I will pick it up. Simon Bar Sinister
a bad Terry Gilliam movie beats the shit out of most directors' great ones. Tideland borders on greatness. Guest Megalicious
*phee tries to think of a bad terry gilliam movie* I thought The Brothers Grimm was HORRIBLY disappointing and really quite bad.... and not awesomely bad like time bandits.... JUST BAD.
phee
Time Bandits was an AMAZING MOVIE... one of my favorites of all time... Brothers Grimm was just sort of.... Meh.... but not bad... just wasn't sure what it wanted to be. The trilogy I thought were all pretty good (Time Bandits, Brazil, Baron Munchazen)
jynxxxedangel
This movie is very disturbing. Depressing, disturbing, odd....I can think of many adjectives, but I can't quite put my finger on how I feel about it. Alice In Wonderland, and the Seven Deadly Sins. There isn't a sane creature in it. Everyone is quite mad, including the child. Mad, carnal, covetous, gluttonous, violent, yet innocent. This has to be one of the weirdest things I have ever seen. Guest Megalicious
Time Bandits was an AMAZING MOVIE... one of my favorites of all time... Hence the AWESOMELY bad, Phee. Bad in the sense of Evils outfits being made out of trash bags. Awesome in the sense of the movie is fucking awesome. One of my favorite movies as a child and an adult it has, and always will hold a special place in my heart. I was Randall of halloween one year .. thehehehe.
