good man....and i hold heartily agree it shouldnt matter if your gay, strait, bisexual, or transgendered everyone should have the right to marry there loved one..and as he said countless men and women gave and still give their lives for freedoms which many Americans take for granted. the military has a don't ask don't tell policy, so a gay man or woman has the right to join the armed service and fight for freedom but they don't have the freedom to marry??

i think its time everyone actually had equal rights

in 1865 slavery was ended and African Americans were given there freedom

in 1870 African Americans were given the right to vote

1920 women were allowed to vote

1971 any legal resident of the U.S. of the age 18+ was given the right to vote

thats all i can really remember for now...but the damn point i'm trying to make is...just about everyone is mature enough to over look someone else's creed, religion, race, and age, and sexuality and if we can have all of these amazing rights there is no FUCKING harm in letting two men or two women marry, its not going to make the nation look bad its not going cause a war its not going to harm anyone

1990 Americans With Disabilities Act is passed intending to put an end to discriminatory practices against the disabled. Aside from that...why our country is this way is a direct result of more or less extreme right evangelical Christianity (at least in terms of the debate over gay marriage and "don't ask, don't tell"). Compared to countless other Western nations, our attitudes towards sex, sexuality, and sexual orientation are Puritan at best considering how many in this nation are all too happy to portray it in a sense very much like that of the Old Testament (which in and of itself I feel is homophobic and intolerant, and the New Testament nothing less then racist propaganda).

thats another funny thing

Jesus might have been Bisexual as well or so the testimant says er also doesn't say

“And the youth, looking upon him, loved him and beseeched that he might remain with him. And going out of the tomb, they went into the house of the youth, for he was rich. And after six days, Jesus instructed him and, at evening, the youth came to him wearing a linen cloth over his naked body. And he remained with him that night, for Jesus taught him the mystery of the Kingdom of God.”

One might argue that Jesus loved all of his followers in a non-sexual way. Thus to identify Jesus' love for John in a special way might indicate a sexual relationship. The disciple was "the" beloved. He was in a class by himself.

and as far as the new testimant being raciest that wouldn't make scene seeing how Jesus was NOT white...

1:13 And in the midst of the seven candlesticks [one] like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.

1:14 His head and [his] hairs [were] white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes [were] as a flame of fire;

1:15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.

1:16 And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp two edged sword: and his countenance [was] as the sun shineth in his strength.(KJV translation)

...THIS, ladies and gentlemen, is the mindset I held when I decided to take the oath to defend the Constitution. And still do. I may be a different party as this fellow Veteran, but the views he describes are shared.

THANK U StormKnight for bringing "Phillip" to us.

To that I have to disagree once again - too often you hear of far right evangelicals almost seemingly advocating the destruction of Israel and Judaism as a whole. Also, from my own perspective, much of what happened to Jesus's crucifixion on the cross and the subsequent events leading up to his death seem to be blamed directly on Jews as a whole. This much I've gained from my many attempts to understand the King James Bible. I could be wrong though. Either way, racism and sexism disgusts me, as does homophobia.

i'm merly quoting what i read from the bible i didnt say i agreed with it...do i think Jesus was gay, strait or bi-sexual...i dunno i wasnt there, me and him never made out or had sex or i never seen him get jiggy with another dude. or female...as far as his nationality is concerned people ALWAYS say well he was Jewish and born in Jerusalem of course he wasn't white....but here is my take on...God (if there is one) impregnated the virgin mary now since GOD did this GOD pretty much could have decided what his eye color skin hue hair color the texture of his hair and his height would have all been i mean after all HE/SHE (i say he/she cuz again ive never met god no one can say what they look like)is god and could have chocen what they wanted Jesus to look like buuut in my belief i don't think he was white...

and as far as the (HARDCORE) Christians are concerned if everyone was made in gods image god must be a little gay himself or herself or completely gay no one will no for sure until they pass on

...not to divert this noble topic, but, in defense of all parties involved, I MUST do the cleaning up here...as, I have yet to see the subject delineated properly ANYWHERE.

To pin the rap of condemning Jesu, on the Jews alive today, is like blaming me wife Oh_My_Goth for slavery, her g-g-etc.-parents were not even ON this continent...

The Jews of Jerusalem circa 33A.D. WERE IN FACT, victims of circumstance at the hands of the adroit manipulator Pontius Pilate...but, they have 'The Lion's Share' of the blame...they were given a choice between the self reported KING OF THE JEWS, & a 'murderer' (believed to be one of the Sicarii)...see, these guys, would kill Jews that were collaborating with, or supporters of Rome/Romans, for WHATEVER REASONS...even following them into Temple, believing that a traitor against the Tribes Of Judea was a Traitor Against G*D Itself, & so, not worthy of Sanctuary anywhere, let alone INSIDE THE HOUSE OF G*D...they were reportedly THE MOST FANATICAL of the Zealots.

So, they chose to kill off the guy that half of them thought was mad, & the other half was just afraid to admit they believed in Him as The Son Of G*D...instead of the person who killed on Holy Ground (the only bit of Holy Ground that Jews at that time called such, as a Synagogue was simply a symbol for The Temple on Moriah.

..BUT...in the telling of the Last Supper, we see, that Jesu The Anointed, KNEW/believed, or even contrived personally, the events of the next few days...I would interject: even so far as to telling many of his followers in Jerusalem to see to it that he was taken into custody & Martyred...either way, by G*D, or Jesu, this weekend was planned.

FURTHERMORE.....the 'Evangelicals' forget...

..the OLD TESTAMENT, sais, "YOU ARE BAD, YOU MUST REPENT & ATONE!"

...the NEW TESTIMENT, sais quite point blank, "IF YOU FELT BAD, YOU ARE NOT ALL THAT BAD, JUST TRY HARDER NEXT TIME, O.K.?..o.K.! :kiss"

TO END THIS RANT.....the last recorded & communicated words of Jesu on the cross, were, "FORGIVE THEM FATHER, FOR THEY KNOW NOT WHAT THEY DO!"

SO, if Jesu, THE ANOINTED, was asking G*D-ALMIGHTY, for Forgiveness for them, He certainly forgave them, & to put the word Cristian (literally: Christ{Anointed} Like) as a describer for one's self, & not to hold absolutely no grudge against the Jews of that time...makes one a PISS-POOR-CHRISTIAN, & not worthy of the title......where are the Sicarii when we need them?

OH...JESU...never said ANYTHING against the gays...

....& they had them! ;)

Since WAY BEFORE that!
