Bad News, Folks...

Recommended Posts

I'm sorry to report, for anyone who was expecting me: The move is NOT going to happen.

I am not going to go into all of it, but I will say that for the past several years, my wife's health has been rocky. She has a stint and three balloons in her heart, from an incident that happened last year, and there are other problems that the doctors cannot seem to pinpoint. To make a long story very short, she was packing some things and preparing for the move that is to take place in two weeks (Myself first, then her and the rest of our stuff was to come along roughly a month afterwards). She collapsed from a combination of the heat and all around stress related to the move. This was to be a big move for us, and she was every bit as excited as I was. Apparently however, it was too much for her. Her doctor told her that if she tries to make this move, it could quite possibly kill her. We have no choice but to stay put.

She is doing fine now and resting comfortably, but she has to keep off her feet for a little bit again.

I hope that everyone understands, and my deepest apologies go out to anyone who has tried to help me along the way thus far. There have been several of you, and I know who you are and so do you. I'm NOT leaving DGN. I feel it is important to make that known. I feel like you all are my extended family here, and I appreciate each and every one of you. Also, I will be in Detroit for the photo shoot for the DGN calendar. Brenda has graciously told me that she still wants me in the calendar, and in her shoot. Therefore, I will be more than happy to do so, and I would love to meet everyone at City Club that weekend.

I am quite sure I will make visits to Detroit from time to time, as I do have pre-existing friends to go along with the ones I have made on here.

Thanks for reading. I'll be around.

I agree 100% with troy.

You are doing the right thing, and no one should fault you for this.

I will say a prayer for your wife and you.

I'm so glad that she's doing better, but I know how much your move meant for you. I think it's a wonderful thing that you stand by her the way that you do. You don't see that happen often enough in life. You and I are very lucky in the fact that we have amazing spouses who we love and love us so deeply. It's a real priviledge to talk to you and share these things.

I'm also really glad that you're still going to do the shoot with me. You're one of the many people on DGN that I am so psyched to get to know! I'm so excited about coming to Detroit, I can't stand it. You know, we talk a lot. If there's ever anything that I can do to help, I would give it my best shot. I've been there for all of my friends, and I would do it for any of you.

You both are in my thoughts. :grouphug

You have a lot of people that care about you here. People who haven't even met you. We're glad that you're sticking around.

Umm...Wow.

I had no idea I would get THIS type of response. I do appreciate all of your sentiments. It speaks volumes as to the way you care about your own. I can honestly say that you all made me more than a tad misty, reading all of the posts wishing well. Thank you.

As I stated in the initial post, Rose IS doing well right now, and she is taking it easy. She will be fine, as long as she doesn't overexert herself. We are both upset about not being able to make the move, but we will deal. I would gladly give up everything I am and everything I have to hang onto her. That is why we have been best friends for over 16 years, and why we fell madly in love to begin with.

As for me being a "non-local" DGNer, I will only ask where you all were a LONG time ago? LOL I will stay here and continue to be a regular poster and member LONG after you all get sick of me. And judging from the responses to my post, that looks like that time just may never come.

Thank you again!

Lael

I'm very sorry to hear this, however you're both doing the right thing by not moving right now. Your wife is way more important, and if its meant to be someday, it will be. Life is always full of surprises, and though some of them are very unpleasant, we do what can to make the best of the situations. My prayers are with your wife.
