WHOEVER YOU ARE, IM NOT TELLING YOU NICELY BUT YOU WILL BE PUNISHED SEVERELY FOR WHAT YOU DONE TO ME AND IF I EVER FIND OUT WHO IT IS OR IF I EVEN THINK WHO IT IS I WILL GET YOU MYSELF. YOU LEFT A TRAIL AT ALDI'S IN HIGHLAND PARK, UNIVERSITY FOODS ON W. WARREN AVE. IN DETROIT AND GLORY SUPERMARKET ALSO IN HIGHLAND PARK!

IF ANYONE HAS ANY INFORMATION, PLEASE TELL ME I NEED ALL THE HELP I CAN GET!

hopefully one of these places had them on camera good luck

I usually only go out with the necessary cash....these days...like 20 bucks and all I carry other than that is my drivers lisence...

Unless its a job interview.

then as soon as I am done i come home and lock my id in a box that is fire proof. and chained to a table leg.

a 4 digit pin is really insecure. any system that uses them is. I hate that my debit card still has them. Literally my desktop can crack a 4 digit pin in under 1 minute if the system is improperly designed (most are). but it requires direct access to the system (e.g. any website that allows it for the password). However, it's not entirely improbable to guess a person's pin based on personal information.

Advice to consider to keep this from happening again.

In addition/supplement to HomocidalHeathen's advice.:

-Never carry any more than the minimum required to keep you identified. For the longest time, it used to be my military ID and a copy of my orders. These days, it is my driver's license, insurance cards, and my training certifications.

-High value cards (debit, credit, the food stamp card, etc.): Unless I am going out to actively use any of them, I leave them at home. It also does a lot to reduce impulse buying. If I am doing multiple tasks, I make sure the object is on me at all times by self pat-down (see below.) Carrying those along is just asking for a Murphy to happen (Murphy's law: If anything can go wrong, it will.)

-Cash: Again only what is needed. In reality, on most nights I need $30.00 to enjoy a night at CC. (3 for parking (a bit more security,) 2-5 to get in (depending on time of arrival,) 1-2 for coat check, 14 for 2 drinks (with tip,) and maybe a little left over for a drink to a birthday or munchies afterward. The night I celebrate my birthday I will bring more.

-Strange as it may sound, I will pat myself down a few times a night. What I am feeling for is if all the stuff I brought in with me to the club that isn't coat-checked is still on me: Wallet (ALWAYS keep it in a front pocket or check it with the coat,) keys (again, can be checked,) and a device or two. The ID and cash is all you need (some states require you even if over 21, to produce proof of age at any time in an establishment.)

-Reduce your liability "footprint" and leave the rest of the stuff at home, in coat check, or in the trunk/HIDDEN (glove compartment) space (NOT under a blanket or something in the passenger cabin.)

Yes, it takes effort, because I actively have to pull and replace certain cards as I need to use them. However, keeps my stress of losing things down to a minimum.

I am sorry this advice comes as espirit de esclair from things being stolen. But now it is out there to keep it from happening to such an extent next time.

All excellent advice. Nothing comes inside a club/party with me except ID, cash, and debit card if I'm going to be running a tab. I carry a purse but it NEVER leaves my person... even if I'm sitting at a table my purse is on my lap or arm. Everything else stays in the car, keeping in mind that in a location like City Club, if someone breaks into your car they will smash a front window and grab everything from the front seat/console/glove box. Which is why I NEVER park on the street there.

I read an article recently about the crappy passwords/PINs people choose... an amazing number of people use something like "1234" or "0000" for a PIN. Or part of their birth date or driver license number (keep in mind, if they got your plastic they likely got your ID also), phone #, etc. Of course this is just like saying "Please take my money- look, I made it easy for you!". NOT implying yours was like that sweetie... but I'll bet anything SOMEONE here is guilty of this, so I figure this is a good place to mention it!

Well part of Gothika's problem is she gave her wallet to me to hold on to. I was already drunk walking in the door... I know when my pockets get light of my things... but I put it in my inside coat pocket which has no zipper. later I got warm and put the coat around my waste... at some point it 'fell' out. maybe when I went over the couch. I take responsibility for losing the wallet, but I do wish I hadn't have been asked to carry it after we were already in City, otherwise we could have left it in the van... or someone sober might have had the foresight to put it in my side pockets, which I forgot had zippers (it's a new coat similar to my old one which didn't have zippers).

You'd also be surprised at how many folks use "password" as their email password.

This is a HUGE security issue for many people.
