Raev: I saw your future wife a couple of weeks ago at the Bean & Leaf in Royal Oak. girl must've been at least 6'1" without the heels, and i doubt she weighed 140. certainly under 150.

I know, but come on "flabby thighs"?

That's not so nice, but idk.

Well, I mean if you're bigger and proud of it, isn't that something that you're supposed to flaunt as being fleshy comes with the territory? How is it offensive?

To most guys, any woman 5'6 or under, who has more than a 30 inch waist, is "big."

You'll hear them proclaim that a woman is too fat, as they scratch their beer bellies.

I'd say I'm 5'9" and around 30 inch waist and I'll say those guys you're talking about are being pretty nice because all the guys in my life say I'm too big  I dunno, different crowds find things to be more/less attractive, I guess it's all in who you know. Of course the guys who tell me I'm chunky are actually skinny, any of my fat guy friends that call me fat (and I can only think of two) I tell to stfu 'cause that's just hypocritical. You can only call me overweight and get away with it if you're like a rail or else I tease back  .

Personally I think they do it as motivation as guys have an interesting, and effective imo, way of motivating people and that is by teasing and well, it's been working for me. They all know that I've been trying to get from my 180-185 lbs back down to my 130-135, hence the teasing.

but just remember just because a girl is on the heavy side dont mean she is unhealthy.

This is true, there are plenty of people who look like they are in perfect shape who are diabetic or have had heart attacks just as there are plenty of people who are heavy who are not diabetic and haven't had heart attacks.

Actually, being vegetarian doesn't mean you're healthy, actually many vegetarians are malnourished.

Tis true also. My friend is vegan, had to have her gall bladder removed recently due to the lack of fat in her diet. She's pretty but she looks like she could use some more protein, she obviously could have used some fat also.

Yes, yes. We came installed with canines, what are they used for? Tearing the fuck out of other animals and then eating them...it is nature, as sad as it is.

Most of the girls I have dated have been bigger than me and I had no problems with it...although with me being 5'11" and 140lbs. it doesn't take much.

I would also like to ask what "big" is here...is it the same as fat? I mean I consider fat to be the point where you don't give a shit and people should be repulsed by you. I am not going to chase after someone that is going to ignore me until that entire cake is gone. I will also not consider everyone "pretty" or "good looking" because they are alive. I believe that I am allowed to have my own limits and I will proudly claim that even as a guy not all boobs turn me on...especially if I can confuse them with VW Beetles...

it's true that there are a lot of different "builds" and that we should embrace all of them, but what's also true is that, no matter your frame, once you get to the point of having more than 30% (or so) of your body weight in fat, you're unhealthy, (or 'less healthy', if you prefer). and i'm sorry, but if you get to 40-50% BW in fat? there should be no accepting of that as a "status quo". i do agree with accepting yourself as you are in the current moment, but that shouldn't preclude you from taking steps to better your health. once you get down to 25-28% BF, then i'm all for people accepting themselves as they're built, and embracing it.

apologies if i offend anyone.

I concur actually, just because I know a lot about biology. Hence why I get mad at people I know with a 40-50% BMI that get pissed that I drink so much coffee because "it's unhealthy". There's a difference between loving yourself and how you look and being in denial altogether, and if it is something that is endangering such as being obese, there's problems with it.

Hell, I'm a bit hefty myself atm, I think maybe...26% BMI or something? Between 26-28%, which isn't too bad, but anything over 30% for anyone is clinically unhealthy. Personally I'm trying to get down to my recommended 21% again, and I don't just do weight/height BMI calculations, I do it the accurate electrode way (I'm sure there's a more scientific term for it) so I know that I'm not misjudging muscle for fat, but I also realize not everyone is built/motivated/wanting to be at 21%, so as long as you're healthy, then who am I to judge?

You're right, but that's like not a flattering word, in my opinion.

It's usually used in a derogatory way, so why would someone who is proud use it to describe their self in a good way?

That's true. It's easy to consume less protein than you need when you're a vegetarian.

I don't think that is my problem, I think I "overeat" and that's why I gain weight.

Maybe I have a slow metabolism, but I do think people abuse saying that and use it as a crutch.

I know that it is very possible for me to lose weight but I am completely content with the way I am now.

I have always been chubby, almost my whole life, and I was picked on A LOT when I was younger.

It didn't make me feel good about myself, but now I know that the way I feel is all that should matter.

your beautiful though i seen your pictures on here...very beautiful indeed ^_^

Thank you very much. And I agree, I think I am beautiful, and I feel just fine with everything about me.

I'm confident in my looks, and I KNOW that a lot of people find me attractive, and not just the icky ones either, so I don't think there is anything wrong with my body.

Okay. Suppose an overweight person doesn't care about being unhealthy? What if they simply don't mind it? Will you just dislike them for their way of life?

Technically I am considered to be obese by my BMI.

I forgot what it was, but in school we did it and I was past the range of "overweight" and just into the "obese" category.

I have gained a bit of weight since then, and I'm sure that I'm quite "obese" now, for sure.

But the thing is that I'm not THAT big, I weight around 180 lbs but I am only 5'2.5 but you wouldn't think I was that heavy because I don't look it.

You don't have any room to judge on the healthy part, unless you are perfectly healthy yourself in EVERY way.

Consuming too much caffeine isn't good for your heart, right? So it's not healthy, right?

I'm sure there are more things that make you less healthy than perfect.

If someone smokes, drinks, or anything they aren't perfectly healthy.

If you don't get enough exercise everyday you can't be healthy.

Not to be full of excuses but maybe people don't have time to worry about being "healthy" and maybe they have bigger shit to think about like problems. Maybe they are poor and can't afford to buy healthy foods (which could be a fault of their own laziness, but that's a whole other story), etc.

i'm classified as obese as well, and truly, it's nobody's business, as long as the individual is happy as they are. thing is, most of the people banging the "big is beautiful" gong that i've interacted with, i've found have decided that accepting being unhealthily fat is easier than doing something about it.

as for the "don't have time to worry" about being healthy? you either take the time now, or you likely die years (or even decades) early. just because you can't afford healthy food doesn't mean you can't slim down a bit. eat less of the junk, move more, etc. going to mcdonald's? just get a small hamburger, small fry... you know? there are so many little steps.

well, not my place to say either way, just trying to express my opinions. i'll shut up now...

You are allowed to do that. I smoke and people call that unhealthy...along with all of the food I eat and how unhealthy that is. If they can tear apart my life choices the I can tear apart theirs...although I am usually not that mean about it. I believe that rule extends to everyone since all is fair in life itself. I have had terrible large people that were drunk at the bar tell me that my smoking habit makes me unhealthy and unattractive. If you really are comfortable with your way of life then you don't give a flying fuck, whatever that is, what people say to you about it.

On somewhat of a side note I tend to get alot of crap for being to skinny...and hairy. I am not going to go on like I am laughing at all the "heavy" people because I am not. It does suck to be skinny sometimes because I am riding the fence on an eating disorder because my body likes to break down meals right away and I am always holding food. This thread probably started because of the images we have for everyone. All the guys are supposed to be ripped to the point where shirts must morph to stay on and all the girls must have nice, firm melons with a thin waist and an ass that would stop bullets. There are those people, and then there are fatties and toothpicks. I get more crap from people about being hairy but that is something completely different...that might prove evolution.

In short you can live how you want and you can choose how you interact, to a certain degree, with those that choose differently. If all else fails use the middle fingers that you are blessed with no matter how thick or thin they are.
