Homicidalheathen
pig germs I am glad I am not a pig farmer. germs, murderers wanting to dispose of bodies...no thanks! I also read someplace you have to cook pig meat REAL GOOD to make sure there are no parasites and that they transmit them more often than any other type of meat except fish which people usually don't cook enough. Hence the term...this thing be unclean for you to eat. Foraging for roots...parasites. Well, and we have swine flu. I know some people on here think pigs are all nice and cute but on the farm, I have seen them sleep and eat in their own excrement. And they just keep EATING UNTIL THEY ARE HUGE! Personally find them kinda disgusting. Only pig I really like is bacon. That kinda makes it all worth while. jynxxxedangel
A few years back, I was at a "chichi" restaurant, and one of the courses in the prix fixe meal I ordered was pork tenderloin medallions, with an apple eau de vie and cream sauce. When I got the plate, I was HORRIFIED to see that the pork had been cooked medium rare! Needless to say, I could not bring myself to eat it, cooked thusly. I ended up sending it back, and having the alternate fish dish brought out. Believe it or not, many chefs are cooking pork rare these days. I don't care if trichinosis has been stamped out-- I STILL cannot bring myself to eat raw pig.
GothicRavenGoddess (3)
as much dirt as ours bring in, thankfully, they don't eat until they are gorged, nor do they eat food where they potty.. they actually have a corner of the yard where they go, and won't eat the grass over there... that being said, farm hogs are disgusting. And to be honest, if you make a pig stay where they potty, they become desensitized to it, and then it stops bothering them, whether they eat where they potty or not. Ours don't, and I'm thankful for that. BUT, I'm not oblivious to the germs they can harbor. Lets just say that I don't eat after the pigs, but I know someone that will give food off their own silverware and won't even wipe it off, unless there's dirt on them, before eating off of it themselves. So disgusting.
