i would have to say that the first couple of months of the year...weren't that great at all.. things got better around end of march and started getting better from there.. .. despite what is going on with the economy not having a job from last year early DEC to april of this year.. .. but i feel i have taking a major step in my life with getting my old job back, having an amazing relationship, making some new friends and reconnecting with old friends..and going back to school..

so all in all this has been a pretty good year despite a few detours on the way..lol..

YOU!!!.....Negative Nacies; your next year will be just the same; & the one after that, & after that, & so on...this is just what happens when you look for the dark spots.(Do not refute me; I KNOW the ZEN, now, YOU go look it up.)

I HAD A GR-R-R-REAT YEAR!

THIS YEAR (& I remember about 30) WAS STUPENDOUS~!

You could nail me to a cross, drench me in kerosene, & throw matches at my feet...I WOULD NOT BUDGE.

Lemme' tell yous why...

Junior showed great honor, & intellect in the second semester of school.

Junior has developed quite an excellent skill set...as an artist...a musician...mathematician...& of course a Mystic.....an all together rounded genius.

...& only had about a month of 'sassy', before we caught, & corrected it.

Somehow...though we were in an economic crisis, My Lovely Wife has a job that was 'less-affected' than most...I now, possess more pairs of foot wear than EVER.

...& WHOLE pairs of pants.

...I also, had to buy a suit (I went with 1 brown, 1 black, & a grey coat, & a green coat...my O_M_G picked them out)...

...BECAUSE I GOT Accepted, Passed & Raised into the F & A Masons. (been on my list of Wills for many years)

..AND, was appointed as Senior Steward. (Pretty phat for first year in a Lodge.)

I had my first show...SUCCESS (so I am told, I could not hear shit.)

Had a pretty meaningful relationship (in my eye) & learned a great many things about many things.

...on top of that...when we got the dump; (lil' over a week ago) we almost immediately were contacted by a few very nice someones. ;)

....we were only able to provide for ourselves a Spartan Christ Mass...BUT, a school official (with access to earnings & such as my complete LACK of ANY family) signed us on for some Secret Santa thing, Junior got his Christ Mass DOUBLED...it made me cry the tears of joy...

Also...at the LAST MINUTE...we DID get our Christ Mass bonus...what-what? DUES PAID for next year...& cash to boot! :p I went extra-shopping...we had pimp assed foods, SO RICH, I had a bit of gastronomic-difficulties for the whole weekend...

I met many new friends, & found several old ones...

Sooo...if you MUST say, "Fuck 2009!", as a Prophet...I must speak back for Glorious 2009, "Fuck you too!"

(reminder, prophet means literally, 'to speak for')

G*D BLESS.

not necessarily true - one can recognize/acknowledge a period of time wherein bad things happened, without pre-judging the time to come. if you really knew zen, you'd know that attachment to outcome is one of the main problems people face. expectation creates disappointment - accepting that which happens without prejudgement is one of the big concepts of zen, if i'm recalling correctly. (for those interested, here are the five moral precepts and philosophical tenets of zen buddhism...)

for me, i've had many "really bad" years, and while i'm sure i've had some really good ones, they're so far back in the past that i can't remember them. this year, i lost the longest "relationship" i've ever had (outside of family) when my little buddy, my cat max, died, and i lost my job this year, and still overall, this has been an "ok" year. i suppose any year i can say "meh, i've had worse", can't really be that bad, right?

the new year is a blank slate, waiting for us to make of it what we will. choose your path, then follow it.

Negative Nancy says.... It's 12/30 and it gave one more smack... and not in the because I was looking sense.... this year just sucked, all I can do is hope it goes away now and lets something else better come along.

"Why are you being so defensive?"

"Because it's a perfectly natural reaction to being forced to defend one's self all the time."

Despite continuing to obsessively count my blessings, I have come to the inescapable conclusion that yes, 2009 sucked big walrus wangs, pretty much from beginning (relationship meltdown) to end (two solid months of ill health). And one of the suckiest parts was watching so many other people struggle just as hard (or harder) as I did.

*hugs* I know what you mean... the best attitude in the world can't keep bad stuff from happening and yes no matter who you are, it can get to you. (I am sorry if that makes me a negative person... but when horrible things happen, it has this way of eventually making a person feel horrible)

Next year... I hope its better then this one... thats all I can say.

I heartily agree.

2009 die die die!

and I agree with Pomba, yes there have been blessings and it could be worse, but not only has my own year sucked, it piles on the suffering even worse to see friends losing cars, houses, even struggling to have enough food. 2009 sucked!

I hope for better times for us all SOON. I am happy to see this year ending.
