What do you recommend for DVD burning software?

So I'm in the market for new DVD burning software. I used to use Nero 8 but when I reformatted my computer I lost it and didn't have a hard copy of it anymore, and I don't have the cash to shell out for Nero 9. I need someone that is user friendly and works with AVI format.

I've been looking at Roxio, but some of the reviews on Amazon.com are really bad so I don't know if I want to spend money on it if it's going to suck.

Anyone got a program they use and swear by that doesn't cost and arm and a leg?

I use roxio but I guess its pricey... 100 bucks? dunno...I would let you download my disc for free...

I use Roxio Easy Media Creator 7 right now but I only burn data DVDs. My roommate burns DVDs with it but you may need a program like DVD shrink to get a movie you download to fit on the DVD.
