bean
Her heart in her throat, she stares across the street. Blue and red flashing highlights her seemingly humble abode. Fear encompasses her. Her frantic mind racing, knowing. Reaching now, seeking her instrument of destruction- concealing it close. Running, faster, faster, to her home- Seeing the worthless one known as boyfriend, soaked with HER blood. Frantic- rushing towards her worst fear. A uniformed man is speaking gibberish. Screaming now- "Where is my daughter!" Breaking through an unseen barrier- a vision of her hell: Shards of glass; maroon smudges; a once perfect face now twisted into abnormal shapes in abnormal places; black and blue skin; her innards lay separate from her. Rushing to comfort her child, holding her empty shell, rocking her back and forth. "My baby." A man in blue tells her what she already realizes. Knowing only hatred; seeking revenge, she pounds her fist against the red stained floor. She knows what she must do. Her vision nothing but red, focused on her target, she goes to her duty. Feeling the pain he caused her daughter through the years, she reaches in her purse. Quickly she is behind him- Whispers of a madman; "Now it's your turn." Twice she pulls the trigger. An eye for an eye. "You bastard, you killed my daughter!" Shocked silence.
Sybil
ya know what, i like this.. you brought a tear to my eye.. and invoked the emotion in me .. the protective one that stops at nothing when a loved, cherished one is in danger.. the style of this reminds me of books i read when i was young.. i mean this as a compliment, this reminds me of Poppy Z Brite's style at times.. (she isnt taken very seriously by most people, but i think she is very raw and honest) good work!

the eternal
I agree, now Im a bit handicapped since part one is deleted, but I liked the pace of it. It felt like short prose more than poetry
