You know, now that I think about it, I apologize, and would like to amend my previous comment.

It dawned on me,(a somewhat "Duh" moment) that Congress is actually the one to blame, and not just or necesarily Obama.

Yep.... a combination of things... congress.... the past president, Obama.... a lot of things

I find it hard to blame the past president Now.

He isn't the president anymore.

We should be focusing on everything that's happened since 1/20/09, because everything prior to, is really a moot point now.

I take it that means nobody blames Clinton for anything anymore

You don't want to blame him for initiating wars that have cost the US tax payer damn near 1 trillion dollars? Yes congress is to blame here too, but Bush started them knowing he could use scare tactics and patriotic propaganda to get both congress and some portion of the citizens to support him. He gambled correctly, and we got mired in a farce. You might say the war in Afghanistan was a more justifiable war because of it's direct links to 9/11. But look where that's got us. Nowhere.

When Obama hits one trillion in spending that has no direct usefulness to the citizens of this country, come talk to me.

I don't intend this to come off as a smart-assish, but I don't believe in crying over spilled milk; we're there now.

What are we sposed to do?

Put our tails between our legs and just give up and come home ?

Anything less then victory, is defeat. the whole world is watching what we do over there.

Barack Obama said he would have the healthcare bill discussions broadcast on C-Span.

Have you seen any ? I have not.

He also said that bills would be posted online for 3 days for all of us to look at, before they get signed into law.

Have you seen any ? I have not.

Can you show me how ANY of the spending that has been done so far,

has proven to be of ANY use to Any of us(other then those who fattened the politicians' campaign coffers) ?

How many jobs(truthfully) in Michigan have been created or saved by all that spending ?

The president said the health care bill would be deficit neutral: not even close.

Every promise Obama made as a canidate, he has Broken as President.

i don't think this is exactly fair - afterall, he's not the one who can finalize/enact everything he wants to do; he answers to others... they're the ones who are failing him, imo. not to say that he is without fault, but his "legacy" (in fact, *any* president's legacy), is for the most part, in the hands of others.

Oh! So Bush is really blameless?

no, you smart-ass! tongue2.gif *the president* is somewhat blameless - *every* president. they can promise all they want, but when it comes down to it, they really don't have the control to deliver on their promises, it's always up to others.

but... by that logic... Bush is also "somewhat blameless".

yes. "somewhat". basically, if a president does something that does not require external approval, it's on him, but if it requires approval of congress, how the hell can he be blamed for the failings/infighting/politics of hundreds of others?

The Iraq and Afghan wars were approved by Congress.

The Patriot Act was also approved by Congress.

The first bail out, approved by Congress.

Deregulation of the Housing market was also approved by Congress.

Most of the national Debt that is blamed on Bush happened in the last 2 years he was President... when the Democrats controlled Congress and wrote all the spending bills.

Bush told us that there was a problem with the housing market. He tried to get Congress to do something about it. Barney Frank stood on the floor of Congress days before the collapse telling us nothing was wrong and there was nothing to worry about. I watched it on C-Span. That son of a bitch should be in prison.

Maybe that's why we can't watch the health care debate on C-Span, so nobody will incriminate themselves again.
