Looking for "Partner" help with a coffee/unusual cafe start-up

Recommended Posts

Ok, folks. I know you all don't really like her that much (Hell, there are some days I want to kill her. lol) but we are starting a real business, with a real plan in motion... and well, she asked me to reach out and post this here. She really wants to work with someone from DGN. (She really does love you guys, believe it or not). But since she just can't seem to wrap the damn rules around her thick skull, she can't post here. I am one of the other other people who will be working at this place. So anyways... here's the post, from Craig's List.

Here's the link. <---CLICKY

Here's the actual ad:

Hello There!

we are half way through the process of starting a specialty cafe' (will explain in email) and coffee shop. This cafe has A LOT of potential and is unusual and we pretty much already have financing. The partnership is myself (everything is in my name to take off the brute of debt), our baker and super cook (but she doesn't know the numbers), and our front counter manager. My husband is a chef that went to culinary school but has other projects going on and is very PT. Thus why we need someone else for this venture.

THIS IS NOT A JOKE! We are destined to succeed. the cafe will open in 3-6 months. you will be promised management and salary once we open. you are welcome to attend school at the same time. we are very pro-education! Until then feel free to hold your current job or schooling, but you HAVE TO be available for meetings (with our financial adviser- yes, a profession we have hired lol, and also with us) and you have to be willing to put in the hard work in numbers and research that we are working on now. We already are working with Sysco (and some others) and need YOUR help with the cost numbers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

*Have a computer with MS Office (we can provide office 2007 if need be)

*costing/purchasing experience

*culinary school and/or 6 months exp line cook

*serve safe certified (or willing to do so on your own time)

*Valid Driver's License (for helping pick-up bulk items when needed)

I am the owner. you will not be sent any silly links or other non-relevant info or sales pitches, etc. you will be a valuable part of our team and we hope that you are in this for the long haul!

***Contact me on this email link. Tell me about yourself in detail, including age, hobbies/interests, schooling, experience and if you have one, your resume. We are looking for the right fit in personality too, not just work experience.***

SORRY OF THIS WAS VERY LONG! I WANTED TO BE UP FRONT!

-----

If you are interested, send me a PM, and I'll give you her email address to get in touch with her. This is serious folks. This isn't a joke.

***Once I give you the email address, please, don't forget to include that information. :) ***

Re-Edit: The ad on Craig's List says the Ypsi- area...

"We are SERIOUSLY looking at one location in Ypsi, and several in western Wayne County and the Ann arbor area." - Steph

You do realize, there is absolutely no mention of where this place will be located...how will peoples know if they CAN work for this...?

..& location is everything in these times...it is the #1 factor on the 'sink-or-swim' test...

...that all said, GOOD LUCK!

fixed. :)

That would be my fault. I was going to add it at the end (like I did in the edit), but I forgot to. I apologize.

And I agree with you 100%
