Uhh how is it Bush's fault that the Supreme Court ruled the way they did? They are a total separate entity from the executive branch of government, and last time I checked all 9 justices had brains in their heads.

With that said, I think it's very dumb that they did this, but blaming Bush is also quite silly.

Bush could have nominated judges with a more balanced or neutral record. He didn't. He didn't make these particular decisions, but he was significantly involved in the process that got the men their positions. Now corporations, unions and other business related entities get to spend whatever they want to influence elections. I don't see any good coming from this and Bush had a direct hand in this day coming to pass. Bury your head in the sand if you want, his legacy will continue to haunt us for a long time.

Sadly, far too many people never dig any deeper into a subject then what they see on the tube. That's why stuff like this is so worrying. The majority of the country doesn't vote at all. much less with their brain fully engaged. Those with deep pockets can spread half truths through advertising quite easily while those with an opposing view will struggle to counter it because of lack of funds.

I guess the slap in the face to the Great Lakes region wasn't enough; they had to sell out the whole country (well, the non-business-entity part, anyway). Two severely fucked up actions, and the year has barely started... the august justices are really on a roll.
