taysteewonderbunny
Taylor Mali is awesome. He makes his living primarily as a radio voice, mostly doing commericials, but the pay allows him the time to make his living as a spoken word poet. He has (I don't know how many) more than once been a member of the New York Slam team and won awards in the individuals competition too. (You have to be on a team to participate in the individuals competition.) I saw him once when he was a guest speaker/performer at Wayne State. n0Mad
Taylor Mali is awesome. My favorite of his poems is: My two favorite lines from that: "I decide to bite my tongue instead of his." "I make them show all their work in math but hide it on their final draft in English."
taysteewonderbunny
My two favorite lines from that: "I decide to bite my tongue instead of his." "I make them show all their work in math but hide it on their final draft in English." You can guess mine: "I make them write 'definitely beautiful, definitely beautiful, definitely beautiful,' so that they will never misspell either word again," comes in right behind, "I can make a 'C+' feel like a Congressional Medal of Honor and an 'A-' feel like a slap in the face--don't waste my time with anything less than your best." More Mali, another one of my faves:
