"Hither came Conan, the Cimmerian, black-haired, sullen-eyed, sword in hand, a thief, a reaver, a slayer, with gigantic melancholies and gigantic mirth, to tread the jeweled thrones of the Earth under his sandalled feet."

— Robert E. Howard, The Phoenix on the Sword, 1932.

I am with Mean Salley on this one.

Sorry, if I am to see someone play our favorite Cimmerian (who is supposedly of Scottish origin,) he should look a bit like the part.

As for who should play Conan, I would want to have better auditions, preferably someone who has actually read Howard's original work.

Who's a Scott?...not Jason Momoa...

Momoa, an only child, was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and raised in Norwalk, Iowa by his mother. His father was a Native Hawaiian and his mother was of German, Irish, and Native American ancestry.[1] Momoa is 6'5"[1] and the nephew of famed surfer Brian Keaulana.

No one reads anymoere...we just wait for the DVD....

Well, my inner little barbarian grew up watching and loving Arnolds depiction of Conan, so I don't think anyone else is going to do it for me. I can't even think of a suitable suggestion as to who it should be, but as far as the current choice.....there's a tiny Valeria inside me saying, "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

You know, I can just see you in Valeria's after-life armor, with Nightgaunt at your side. :)

Supposedly, Cimmerians were of Scottish origin by way of the books.
