MARCH 17th St. Patrick's Day VVN NATION LIVE at the Necto!!! I REPEAT VNV NATION LIVE at the Necto!!!

This is no DJ set expect over 2 blistering hours of live music by one of the greatest bands in our scene. The Necto is proud to host VNV on their second date of this North American tour and the first of their sparse mid-west appearances. They have performed at outdoor music festivals and large arena's now see them in a very intimate setting. We will only be selling 450 tickets. Pre-sales for the first 2 weeks will be $15 and they must be bought at the Necto. After the first 2 weeks tickets will be $20 and available online at want tickets . com. We want to make sure as many of our regular's get a chance at tickets before they hit online. So act fast!

Expect some songs they rarely play live and a different vibe from the other shows. They wanted to do a smaller show and they really wanted to play in Michigan so it was a perfect fit. After us doing the 89X homeboy shows all last summer we know how to pull off a live show well. The thought of doing a smaller more personal live show with band of VNV's caliber could not be passed up. After the show DJ sets and music till 2 am.

VOID 6 will also be djing at the event he just doesn't know it yet. :) So when you read this I hope your available.

driving 2100 miles in less than 24 hours is gonna be a bitch.

Actually they will be flying from in from San Fran after that they will stay here on Thursday and then fly to Edmonton to continue their tour. We tried to get them in between the Pittsburgh and Cincinnati shows but they did not want to do 8 days in a row with no days off. They love the Michigan fans and they really wanted to make this event happen so they rearranged their off time to play for us. I am really excited about this and so is Ronan expect an great show.

Actually it's an hour and a quarter away. Plus I'd be most likely picking up Tyger and my bf and driving them. So add in more time, plus border wait.

Oh, whine ;) I guess I don't consider "an hour and a quarter away" reason enough not to go to an event. Unless you are just not that interested in going. I once traveled for 5.5hrs to Chicago to spend a mere 7hrs with a group of people I had never met in person before, and only knew a little bit from a blog I follow, then returned (what ended up being a 7hr drive back) that same night. It was sort of stupid but incredibly worth it.

I once traveled for 5.5hrs to Chicago to spend a mere 7hrs with a group of people I had never met in person before, and only knew a little bit from a blog I follow, then returned (what ended up being a 7hr drive back) that same night. Well I drove to Cleveland a few years ago to see She Wants Revenge and Placebo.

It's not that I don't want to go, I just have to make sure I have the time off (along with Jake) and stuff. It's not an instant "I will be there" situation for me. But I will most likely be there. VNV puts on an awesome show!

BTW...who did you drive over 5 hours to see?

3 of the bloggers from Skepchick.org (Elyse, Maria (Masala Skeptic), and Carrie (Carr2D2)) and members of the Chicago Skeptics group. It was a hell of a lot of fun and an opportunity for me to get out and meet new people.

I certainly can understand the time off situation and that does make total sense, there have certainly been times when I've had to miss out on things because of an inability to get out of work or something similar.

If anyone will be going to Necto to get tickets this week or next I would LOVELOVELOVE to ask you to grab a pair for me! I'll give someone $40 to get me 2 tickets...which means $10 profit for that person if they buy them tonight or next week! ;) I am sick today and I don't want to take the chance of not making it next week to Necto either and missing out! Is S.I.T.D. going to be opening this one, or is it just VNV all night? I know they are with them most of this tour.

Just VNV Nation sadly. Since they are flying in from the west coast for this one off event we couldn't feasibly do both bands. No opener that night local or otherwise just a solo night with VNV and Void and I djing before the show. Afterwords we'll be doing DJ sets till 2 am

Where can we get tickets besides directly from you? I don't think I'll have time to get out to Necto before then.

Tickets will be available to everyone online at want tickets .com on Tuesday March 2nd. We wanted to make sure the only place to get them was the club for the first 2 weeks to give an opportunity for as many of our regulars to get them as possible.
