problem was columbine show there was a drunk guy getting on stage during pillar of autumns set trying to mess with there equipment we went and told the bartender and he told me "What do you want me to do about it" so we went back columbine came on the same guy gets on stage and sevin pushes him off with his keyboard. He tries another time and the fans grab him. his friend goes nuts and starts swinging at everyone i got hit twice and wasn't trying to be involved at all and it was the fans that restrained him before employees kicked him out.

I ended up having to leave the show early cause of dizziness sucker punched sucks

Somehow this is Small's fault? Sounds more like a personal issue and getting more involved than you need to be. Maybe instead of crying to the bartender you should have brought it up with one of the band members themselves (who are responsible for their gear on stage) or the sound guy who is usually around. Bartenders are there to serve drinks.

Like Timekiller mentiond, We've done plenty of shows at Smalls and have had no problems with them as a venue. They've been nothing but accommodating to us as promoters as well as assisting us in every possible way to bring the shows/bands that YOU want to see and other venues often choose to ignore.

I went to an Ann Arbor venue last year to see Koffin Kats. The first two bands were tame and then when the Kats came on things got rough. My camera and I ended up getting slammed into the edge of a bar railing. Got a nice bloody scrape and a scar, but is that the bars fault? I Don't blame them one bit.

Geez, I'm getting sick of people complaining about every damn thing in this scene. Leave your f'ing DRAMA at home...

first of all, I was there, and the BARTENDER was also the effing owner... (the other bartender was doing fine enough on her own!) the sound guy disappeared, and the guy in the crowd started the shit, NOT the effing band.. I had to break that fucking fight up.. ad Deathfearsnone wasn't the only guy the drunk idiot swung at.. DFN just happens to be one of the few he actually hit! He wasn't the only one trying to deal crowd control. It wasn't until I broke the fight up, did the owner take it upon himself to drag the drunk guy out... yeah. so yeah, I'd say it was Small's fault... I mean, he was acting as bouncer but then the crowd gets rowdy and he backs out? someone could have been really injured and NONE of the fucking staff stepped in...

man I love how people run their fucking mouths about shit before they get all the facts...

Well...this is going to sound dickish but meh..

If YOU were the one who broke the fight up, I cant imagine it was that ruff, unless you are just a beast of a woman. Shit happens at concerts, people get drunk, people get stupid.

And if anyone knows about smalls on this sit, it would be Saint as he has been bringing shows to this city for you people for the past couple years..you should thank him every once in a while. if it werent for darque productions, whom saint is a huge part of, this scene would be even shittier than it already is.

oh yes, let me worship the ground the foundation is built on.. oh god yes, I can't live without the venue that is smalls, though I've only been to one show there.. and have been to so many concerts in the past year..

and hunny, when I need to be, I turn into a little short tank. I can handle my own... But I was lucky that he didn't hit me because he towered over me... he could have easily picked me up and thrown me if he wanted to. I take it you weren't there? and yes shit does happen, people get hurt and people get stupid.. I know that: I've gotten my wrist broken at shows, and really, in THIS situation, staff SHOULD have stepped in before the crowd had to do their job for them... that's all I was trying to say.. jeeze...

So young...so full of rage...DAMN THAT RAP MUSIC!

...And know, I was not at that show, as you may have caught on from one of the other posts in this thread, I think Columbine is a bad band. Although I have been hurt at shows, hospitalized in fact, but I didnt blame the venue, I blamed the ass who did it to me.

rage, who has rage? I sure don't. not attitude nothing... it just bothers me when someone should be doing something about unruly people, swinging at people, climbing on stage... ect, and the staff of a building doesn't step in.. and asks its patrons "what do you expect me to do about it?" I mean seriously... just because you are good friends with them or some of the people who have done business with them doesn't mean you have to disrespect those that speak truths about some of the flaws of the place...

Hell, there's a venue I LOVE and I still don't kiss the owner's ass nor do I think the venue's perfect...

whatever dude. think what you want... the staff still should have stepped in, instead of disappearing. its not like it was a large place and staff couldn't get to the fight... then maybe I could see...

True, I am good riends with Dj Saint, but thats about it. I dont know anyone who owns/manages s"Smalls" and im pretty sure I dont know anyone else from Darque. that being said.

Do you still go the venue where your wrist was broken? if not than I guess I see your point, sorry you had a bad experience at a concert. Its to bad you let one bad experience ruin future events. Hell worse shit that that happens at City Club almost weekly once it gets later in the night. Not to mention, Columbine has done some angry/violent stuff on stage that would make it seem like they wouldnt mind crazy things like that. Didnt the keyboardist DESTROY his keyboard before a coffin cats show just because he felt like it? If people destroy there instruments on stage, I would assume they wouldnt mind a fight or 2. Sounds pretty punk rock to me... If you are worried about shit going down at a show, stay in the back of the crowd.

No, I still go to that venue where my wrist was broken.. but only because the staff does its job... my wrist was broken before staff could get to me, and the large fight was getting larger...(and I was trying to get the hell out of there...) I forgave the venue and its staff because they had a hard time getting to where they needed to be... I'm still wary about going to a place who's staff DISAPPEARS when they need to be doing crowd control.. there's a difference....

oh, and VII destroyed his keyboard, because the guy jumping on stage damaged it and it wouldn't play right, after that...

Seven's words for doing it (while on stage and after from what my room mate, who was there said) "We are at a Koffin Kats show" and proceeded with the smashing. Or something to the like, if I remember right. Probably to give the show they were putting on a more Punk feel, as the 2 bands playing together was a little...different. and even if the guy did do some damage to it (I doubt it was that bad) it wouldnt warrant him destroying the keyboard, lol.

To each there own, I know I will be going to the show.

Be Well (damn it, people got me saying it to...damn you demolition maaaan!)

actually, VII was trying to get his keyboard to work (the stand got knocked out from under the keyboard and when it all landed together one of the speakers was broken... i'd know, I have a piece of it still LOL), and it wasn't so he said "Fuck it, we are at a Koffin Kats show..." shrugs and then breaks it... he turned a shitting situation into a fun one... or tried to, anyways..

Hmmm...

People really need to start realizing the consequences related to their own actions rather than placing the blame on somebody else. It's called personal accountability.

Whatever, onto more important things and we'll see you all at Smalls

(well, minus two of you...)
