freydis
Why would you leave your kid alone in a doctors office? Why would they *ask* you to leave a young child alone in the office? This would have been a red flag to me right away.
Simon Bar Sinister
I'd like to think that I would have let the legal system take its course if I'd been told that something like this had ever happened to my niece or a nephew...but I probably wouldn't have. GothicRavenGoddess (3)
I couldn't go any further than that: Biden said that some of the alleged victims were just months old. If convicted, Bradley could face life in prison, according to Biden. So disgusting... Those poor kids are going to need a lot of help, in the years to come... and the babies... I can't imagine... pomba gira
What a sick fuck. That's just beyond unspeakable. Why would you leave your kid alone in a doctors office? Why would they *ask* you to leave a young child alone in the office? This would have been a red flag to me right away. I agree. Sometimes when a child is acting out, you ask the parent to leave the room since that often stops the behavior... but under normal circumstances... no. I don't know how pediatricians usually operate... isn't there supposed to be a nurse or assistant present? And he's shouting at kids while doing all this- what, are the exam rooms soundproofed? StormKnight (1)
For teens, as the logic goes, getting the parents out of the room gets kids to be more honest in the topic of drugs, sex, and frees them to ask questions they are afraid of asking in front of Mom or Dad. Did it when in school on pediatric rotations and caught quite a bit. Picked up anorexia in teen girls, and got them help early. I answered questions about sex from teen boys whose mothers were adamant that their boys "were not into sex," and so on. All because they didn't have their parent in there. Parents are intimidating regarding those things teens really want to know the answer to. Anyone younger than puberty, barring a high suspicion of child abuse, the parent is there. That being said, this pediatrician violated that trust, and with 2-year olds?! Hang him. Edited February 24, 2010 by StormKnight

I'm with you, any crimes against children should be an automatic death sentence.
TygerLili
What a monster! I'm against the death penalty in a case like this. I'd rather see him go to prison and get beaten and raped by the other inmates. Castration would be good, also. And, yeah, a "special toy room in the basement." That sounds pretty creepy under any circumstances.

That sounds pretty creepy under any circumstances. Yeah, it does. This is an example of how conditioned we are to not question people in authority. Some of those parents had to find the whole setup odd, at the very least... and their children have suffered because they were hesitant to challenge the guy, didn't want to rock the boat, or whatever.
