Haircolor

Recommended Posts

I don't know how many of you have colored your hair. I know Mine has been everything from platinum to black, in EVERY shade of the rainbow. If you're anything like me (in that aspect), what was/is your favorite?

I can tell you that mine is and was Blood Red by Special Effects.

I had a spiral perm and had it a vibrant fuscia in high school. It was awesome!

Hard to beat the classic tall , thin, glossy black hair, pale skin , red/black vain as hell morticia Addams look that seems to be nearly dead at times. Usurped by the anime-goth techo funhouse look.

As a blanket statement its pretty hard since hair color doesnt exist in a vacum, the "it depends on the person" maxim at work. Crazy colors are usually pretty damn hot, Bright red, purple, blue etc. the kind of stuff that you couldnt get away with working in an office at EDS. Although i might be a bit biased just because of the idea , that this particular person isnt a "weekend goth" but looks that way 24/7. (yes i have been a weekend goth for years *hangs head in shame* ever since i sold my soul to the corporate devil. haha)

On others, I don't care. Like it if it looks good, if it doesn't, maybe they'll change - and if they like it, that's good enough for me.

For myself, I've never been able to, nor have I ever wanted to, change my overall color. I'm a natural dark blonde, and quite happy with my color. Perms do lighten it slightly, and some experiments in permanent and semi-permanent colors have left the undermost, bottom layer of my hair almost bleached-looking and slightly damaged.

The only coloring I've ever done was 1) an overall move to strawberry blonde when, after my first vermilion Punky Color-underlayer job, my bosses took me in a room and "discussed" my 2-tone hair with me. Bleaching out the vermilion only took it down a few shades, so I had to do something to make it all match again. NEVER AGAIN. 2) I tried to do the hair what's-her-name from Berlin had in the late '80s - blonde with black on the bottom inch. It turned out horrible. 3) the vermilion underlayer thing, which I'm considering doing again.

my all time favorite "real" hair color is red. love red curly hair! on anyone.

or black. real super dark shiny black. and curly or super sleek and straight.

for dyed hair i like seeing really really red. like super unnatural fire engine red or purple or black. black with streaks. streaks of red or purple. ;)

i like other colors like blue or green or pink or whatever as long as they are done well. not that faded out barely there look. i like the colors to be super bold like you just dipped your head in some paint.

i HATE when people dye their own hair blonde. all one color blonde. it looks horrible. and yellow. not blonde. natural blonde- or dyed streaky blonde is the only blonde anyone should ever have. if anyone paid attention they would see that most blondes dont have *one* shade of blonde in their hair anyways - unless they have that white blonde hair. so if you want to pull off blonde i think you should only get it done and not attempt it yourself unless you know what you are doing ;) and for godsakes- get the roots done. :p yuck. hate that too. blonde hair that looks yellow or orange with brown roots. you know that "sun-in" on brown hair look.

My hair isn't sure what color it wants to be. It was bright auburn, then it was dark dark, almost black brown (because I dyed it), and now it's somewhere inbetween. It gets a little redder everyday, as the henna stuff comes out. Naturally, I think I'm a dark auburny brown.

I have dyed my hair every color known to man. Over the past few years I keep going back and forth between having fire-red hair and black hair (I just went back to black a few months ago). I love my hair when it is the fire red, and have gotten so many compliments on it, and to me it makes my curly hair a bit more tolerable. Unfortunately the color fades too fast, and I end up having to dye it once a month to keep the red vibrant, and my hair is naturally almost black, so when my roots came in it just looks bad. For now I'm keeping it black just because it is less maintenance.

My other favorite hair color is violet. All through high school I had violet hair and I loved it, but because of my job I have to have a more normal hair color these days.

on me, i like all shades of red.. i guess it comes from my mother always dying her hair reddish blond. my natural color is dirty dishwater blond, almost a light brown.. ickyness.. heh, right now my hair is a faded burgundy color... i need to redye it.. maybe i'll just do a hair dye party at my house..

As far as I am concernd only three people should be unnaturaly blond

Billy Idol. James Masters and Vater Araignee. when I see A blond I think of blond jokes.

I'm proof that Blonds think the world revolves around them but then again I'm proof that perfection isn't.*WEG*

    • I am currently floored.   FedEx did a massive 6 box delivery to the wrong address.  I had an autoship order scheduled to arrive before this past weekend.  Nothing showed up.  I contacted the order site and they had a link for the order...a photo of all my boxes thrown in the snow and up the sidewalk of a residence that was not mine.   You would think that at some point, the driver would have looked at the delivery address after they kept throwing box upon box at this location with no shelter from the elements.  They didn't even knock on the door to inform the residents that massive 65+ pound boxes were left all over their walkway.  Nope.  Just dumped them, took a photo as they were walking away and left.   I wonder what the person who found all of those misdelivered boxes must have been thinking when they saw them.  Maybe they kept everything to use, distribute or sell.  No idea.  No claim was filed on that end as of yet.   Fortunately for me, one of the sites that I ordered from, replaced everything at no extra cost.   Unfortunately, now I'm concerned for the other items yet to be delivered.   Needless to say, I'll be watching my notifications like a hawk.
