Help Spook Find Music

Hey all you music hounds out there. I came up with a variety show idea about a year ago but it's been sitting on the back burner. Now that I'm done with school and have a bit more time, I'm starting to get serious about producing this thing. The setting for the show is a lost tribe deep within the Amazon rain forest. I need instrumental music (though whoops, chants, and nonsensical lyrics are okay) that is drum heavy, very jungley and tribal sounding. It does not necessarily have to be Amazonian. Some African, Goa, and other types of music will work though try to avoid anything distinctly Middle Eastern sounding. Some of my ideas so far are:

  • Karakas by Maduro
  • Digeridoo by Aphex Twin
  • Juno Reactor
  • Servitor Sanctum

Please let me know what else y'all come up with, preferably with links to a Lala player or someplace else I can listen to full songs. Thanks!

Check out This Morn Omina - "Suneater", "One Eyed Man", "N=FP" ... Basically anything off of the Drake Equation you might find suitable, excellent discography of music.

Like wise tzolk'in - http://www.ant-zen.com/act/act210.htm

Muslimgauze

Monolith - "Al Ahali (Club Mix)" and "Tekno Buddha" are fun tracks

might want to check out some material on Tympanik Audio, Hymen Records, Ant Zen

there's plenty out there if you do some research. I'm away from my CD's right now otherwise more would instantly come to mind.

first off, find Dhol Foundation's Big Drum, Small World:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NwCtaiJ6HDw ...yes, the rest of this album kicks this much ass as well.

then, either of Ekova's albums Heaven's Dust or Space Lullabies and other Phantasmagorie:

...this is from the latter.

...and you're gonna need some of Suba's Sao Paulo Confessions, too:

...more to come!

You sure you don't want to make the music yourself?

...I'll help (allot)...that's what I decided to do with my life until Ragnarok...

That would be ideal so I won't have to pay any licensing fees if I ever decide to video it and sell DVDs. Plus I can get the choreo and music to sync up perfectly. But I just don't have the time or ambition for it this year. I figure I'll try it first with produced music and see how the show concept goes over. If it looks like a keeper then I may put more effort into it and do a version 2.0. If so, then I may take you up on that help offer.
