Ok - now here was a band with a very interesting history. This was a late 60s trio comprised of sisters who were pretty much forced into this by their father who was going by a prediction his mother had made years earlier. Musically, they were uneven and out-of-tune with very simple lyrics and that added to the charm of their sound. Before you can even get a chance to hate it it's already endeared itself to you. Haunting and innocent...

What's also interesting is how their sound predates that of lo-fi indie by a couple of decades. In fact, they've had an affect and influence on different indie bands that would later form and have inspired a tribute album. And Frank Zappa, himself, had even praised the band.

They very much had a unique sound. It's something I definitely dig and couldn't easily dismiss upon first listening.

I remember my teacher bringing these up in that stupid music history class...he though the band was fine but he kinda wanted to punish the ears of the majority of the class that couldn't handle learning anything about music unless it was current rap or current pop music.

Honestly they are not that bad...they are not on my Ipod to be sure but the pop up on my computer on occasion when I hit shuffle...
